Fashionably Late To The Del Toro Party

Either my invitation to the soirée got lost in the mail or else I've been living under a half marathon training rock for too long cuz apparently I am theee last person in Blogsbury to find out about Del Toro's velvet slips...

Thank goodness for EAS's post on the brand cuz I guess ole Maxminimus dropped the ball with the Del Toro communique. He's one custom order pair deep, and yet, nary a peep. Were ya waiting til your pair arrived before disseminating the find Mister? Mmmmhhhmmm...

Well, I see your head start custom order, and raise you a pair of black velvet foxes...

Shortly to be followed up by the navy velvet monograms with the shhhwanky red racing stripe...

Once Babe gets wind that you roused the costly slumbering competitor in me we're BOTH gonna get it...

Kindness of EAS at Let the Tide blog for getting the Del Toro Intel into the proper hands. Just so happens I recently gave away the veeery last pair in my Stubbs velvet collection. Running may ward off the Butt Police but, it'll also cost ya a half a foot size and a boat load of pricey shoes...XXOO

  1. I am glad you appreciate the velvet slipper find as much as I do! I have your coveted fox slipper in today’s post. We may share the same brain...if only our feet were a little bigger! xx

  2. Paul has both the Stubbs skull and crossbones and the Brooks fox...wears them with formal wear and sockless with other stuff...they are so much fun! All his groomsmen wore them sans sock in our wedding waaaayyy back when...

  3. I think it's a sign that I saw the fox slipper on both Let the Tide and your blog. I must get a pair. :)

  4. Sorry to put a damper on your post allie, but I recently placed an order with Del Toro and I was very disappointed with their customer service, they are really lacking in their professionalism. I will stick with stubbs from now on.

  5. Stubbs has resurrected their bumble bee needlepoints for men. I was married in a pair of those. Sockless. Had to exorcise my closet of them 'cause of the bad divorce juju but fyi...Stubbs has some cool stuff again. However, Stubbs has gotten too proud of their product and the price points don't equal the goods. When a pair of Stubbs exceed the cost of a pair of Belgians, I'm done. Call it the ADG-Belgains Value Index. Kinda like the weight-width ratio index that the Butt Police embraces. Embraces...the index-not the butt.

The Del Toreoreoreo stuff is rock solid for the money. They sent me two sizes to try and it's identical to the Stubbs product for much less dough. And I didn't do no velveteen Del Toros. I did brown suede with a lighter brown monogram. Monochromatic Brown Hued Redneck Heterosexual In Girlie Shoes theme.

Thank you. This concludes my guest post at Summer Is A Verb.

  6. Now we think Babe is just going to have to understand the running=different shoe size=need for new foot coverings. It's not your fault! These are wonderful, we haven't seen the brand before.

    Sending you a smile,
    tp

  7. That's unfortunate anon. Not to discount your experience but, I reached out to them last night with general questions and received immediate and très helpful responses. In fact, the entire exchange felt quite personal and that was prior to my blog post reveal...XXOO

  8. I have heard of Stubbs, but not Del Toro. The red velvety slippers with the embroidered doggie is my fave, that way I can have a super cute doggie and hubbie cannot complain that it destroys the house.

  9. LOVE these - I have a pair of navy blue, with baby blue wasps embroidered - so comfy, too. Great conversation, piece also.

  11. I ordered mine ages ago and your post reminded me I need to check back in. I've had unreliable but charming customer service so am patiently standing by.
