Shrine To Summer

A couple months ago I met the wonderfully talented PVE for tea and she arrived bearing a gift...

And, after last week's cold snap, I figured it was time high time I unwrapped the cellophane and put my Fresh beachy home fragrance to good use in erecting my shrine to summer...

Some people have voodoo dolls they stick with pins, I have Simon Pearce hurricanes wafting Seaside scent to the gods of summer with each flick o' the Bic...

We also bid adieu to the orchids gracing my cachepot and bonjour to the shells...

Low maintenance is how I roll when there are soon to be PTH's on the line...

Ever the sun seeker himself, Pilge followed me from room to room to attic offering his moral support throughout the entire turnover and graciously posed for his post job well done pic...

But, once Napping Beauty heard the tell-tale sounds of a missing photo op she appeared on the landing as if on queue...

Sooo, take 2 with the Princess...

Before it's was on to the candle lighting and serious Coppertone chanting...

Kindness of PVE for always being so genuinely thoughtful and sweet, Unlike moi, who compleeetely forgot about her studio tour yesterday. I think all the Seaside incense and Coppertone huffing has affected my brain. I may need a pre-season beach jaunt to recalibrate...XXOO

Hot This Week

Time to catch up on my current digs before they get too backlogged...

Lemme tell ya, 'tis salad city 'round here in an attempt to make up for all the Cadbury Crime Egg damage I inflicted on my sooo NOT bikini ready bod and I was thrilled to stumble upon Jeanne Kelley's Salad for Dinner cookbook during a recent swing through Tomboy Style. Toootal bible potential here...

For all y'all who went gaga for GiGi several post's ago, here's a chance to win an All-in-One Bag of your own with the PIN IT 2 WIN IT sweepstakes. Click here for easy as pie contest scoop and here for a peek at my entry...

Not ready to let this thrill go quite yet so, for anyone who missed my mention on page 90 0f Matchbook Magazine's most recent issue, please allow me. That Devon is a peach...

Read about the Coobie Bras in Fitness Mag and immediately ordered 2 strapless and 3 scoopnecks. Supposedly comfy beyond belief and, since everything else seems to be engineered for either itty bitty's or those in need of Kevlar, I'm pinning all my regular gal hopes on the package en route...

K, now Pilgie and Lolly asked me to tug on all those local tri-state heartstrings for a très important cause. Marmalade, a one year old Maine Coon mix, and Shadow, a 10 year old long haired Tabby, lost their Mama to suicide in Fairfield County, CT and are desperate for a new home and heart. So, if you have room in either, or know someone who does, please contact Robin Olson info@coveredincathair.com asap. In return, Pilge and Leels vow to keep you in their hearts forever...

*Almost forgot, use the code fitBOGO now through June 15 to buy one, get one free when ordering Coobie Bras...

Kindness of Ellen Garrity, aka I Love Lime Green, for the Marmalade and Shadow alert. Pilgie and Lolly say to think positive, hopeful thoughts Ellen. They've got the kitty prayer chain rolling and are using all their best Tony Robbins strategies to summon forth a happy ending...XXOO

The Popover

Yeah, reeeaaal big surprise that all the summer duds I unpacked sit idling as the temps dip back into the 50's. Ev-er-ee stinkin' time I tell ya...

So, I've decided the popover shall be the piece to bridge the gap in finicky Spring degrees and, after conferring with aide-de-camp Lizzie, snagged my first one from J.Crew in faded chambray...

Now I've my sights set on another from Ann Mashburn in Fushia Gingham Broadcloth...

Annnd, Navy Gingham Broadcloth. Natch, such an investment, not to mention flirt with Mint.com disaster, is one sure fire way to get us back into the 80's...

*Even though J. Crew is sold out of a bunch of sizes in the faded chambray Popover, I was able to secure a medium just by calling 800.587.5819 and launching a search...

**FYI, the Ann Mashburn popover runs small and most peeps, especially those with swimmer's shoulders like I, size up...

Kindness of Lisa at Amid Privilege for sharing feedback on the "serious high quality" of her Ann Mashburn shirt and, Charlotte Goldfarb who emailed me like, two years ago also singing Ann Mashburn's praises. Welp, better late than never Charlotte. Thus the need for two Popovers. Just making up for lost time...XXOO

The Switch

Last week we turned the corner and, it's all downhill to summer...

We packed up the velvet Belgies...

And, de-ribboned the summer kicks...

It was goodbye winter cashmere and cold weather running tights...

And, hellooo pastels and silks...

A brief intermission to take note of finding the perfect spot on the Hermès altar for the iomoi brass monkey guy I've been eyeing for holding Babe's watch and rings...

Then, back to swapping out cords and khakis...

For Lilly's and Skinny's...

Pulling out the bikinis and cover-ups still reeking of Coppertone and sea...

And, a much cheerier scene on the drying rack...

I'd say, see ya next season Thomas Mason addiction but, I have a feeling there'll be the occasional raid through May...

After that, we'll have some tan flesh that needs exposing...

Kindness of Pilgie and Lolly for being great li'l helpers, Thomas Jefferson for pioneering the whole winter/summer closet idea and, Babe, for understanding that buying something for his benefit doesn't count as a purchase no matter how cute I happen to think it is...XXOO

Jules Reid Trunk Show

Sadly, I'll be missing my annual get in trouble Jules Reid trunk show in G'town this weekend...

Sooo, rather than heading into the dressing room loaded down with lust items in my fav Jules' print du saison, daisy stream green, like The Beatrice...

Another Peony score...

The Emma, who'd get so much wear she'd eventually start trotting herself out...

The just a beggin' for a date with my white AG's Virginia...

Annnd, much coveted John-John, I'll be enjoying the lush green of the Lawn in C'ville instead. Yup, there'll be no me and a heap of daisy stream green colluding to outwit our mint(green).com nemesis so, Babe and his green can breath a sigh of relief...

Kindness of Jules and Ethan for knowing I'll be there in daisy stream (pea) green (with envy) spirit...XXOO

Ti-Babes Take A Minus

Nico, our neighbor's son and sitter/friend of the Ti-Babes, asked the Bippers to participate in his class science project; How does a cat's reaction to music differ from a baby's?

Although, initially happy with her role in the final product, Lolly was a bit curious about the minus part of the A-...

I mean, who could minus that face?

Then she saw it...GASP! Laaazyyy??? He???

Ohhh the shame...

Pilge requested keeping his name out of this post lest someone mistaken him for the above likeness...

I mean, puhleeeze...any resemblance is just absurd!

In the future? Hmmmm...we may have to establish a few parameters for inclusion in any future "musical" projects Master Nico...

Mais, don't you know our Daddy's got Cajun blood coursing through his veins? A li'l Au Fond du Lac is preferential to our Looziana lovin' ears...

Lazy, mes patte...

Kindness of Nico for being a good sport and a great friend and caregiver to the Ti-Babe's. We've downloaded some Feufollet and are limbering up for a spry game of purple mouse for our big date this coming weekend...XXOO

Persifor

I am quite the biz bee so, this week's post are gonna be short and sweet. Not, sweet as in saccharine but, sweet as in suh-weet...

Which was exactly my reaction when an ex Lilly corporate gal sent along a note bearing kind words and a link to "J. Crew and Lilly Pulitzer design alumn" Alexandra Thompson's just launched line, Persifor...

Now, that's the kind of street cred that gets the velvet rope dropped right quick 'round here. That and, the Kilpatrick Dress in Ole...

 Or, Swizzle Sticks...

Muffy meets Pam Anderson?

Well, come right on in Ms. Thompson. Drinks are on the beach house...

Kindness of Christina Fogli for the love and the Persifor scoop. My inner Baywatch Babe and outer C.Z. thank you...XXOO

Hits O' The Week

Top honors for lust items of the week go to...

Lizzie Garrett's much anticipated tomboy style finally hitting the shelves...

When Amy and I were loitering 'round Richards' Hermès case discussing the merits of the red clic-clack, Babe leaned over my shoulder, pointed to that orange beaut second from the left and said, I really like that one. One Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Missi...is the time it took for the mice to cross reference my entire wardrobe for compatibility, picture my bronzed, cuffed wrist gallivanting around like hot stuff, weigh the pros and cons of placing all my Hermès chips on this number before responding, meee tooo batbatbat...

Melissa Odabash's Trinidad already sitting pretty in my bikini basket in both the yellow and black while the unpurchased white and blue whisper to me from cyberspace...

Iomoi's leather tote in hamptons blue with gold initials looking to bench my already in the bullpen white Longchamp for the upcoming season...

The Ti-Babes caught holding paws. Cuff shmuff, nothin' trumps a scene like this...

Kindness of Babe for realizing that, you saaaay innocuous statement pahtaaaytoe, I say commitment pohtaaahtoe...XXOO
