Oh, Mais Oui Je Suis un Preppie!

I'd like to get my hands on this retro number. Along with the infamous "Poverty Sucks" poster, it is très powder room frame worthy.

It figures the genius behind the 1970's concept was a UVA student. I just may be inspired enough to revive the layered polo/oxford look for fall in honor of this fellow (thru marriage) Wahoo!

Be sure to click on the poster to enlarge for thorough perusing. Wah-hoo-wah...

  3. That is amazing! A framed copy of 'The Official Preppy Handbook' might also look lovely in your powder room...

  5. Allie, i think you need to start the new concept "2010". its been far too long not to update the 70's Preppie campaign in your tres chic, constantly hip, prep fashion. it would be a hit! hmmm, something else to discuss in the Hamptons!! counting down the days.........xxoo Ellie

  9. My favorites: rain gutters and Noah's Ark deck shoes.
    Bwhahahahaha...

I have the Preppy Joke Book and probably should post some of them. Hopsy just got the Preppy Cookbook.

I actually was in college when the Prep Handbook came out. Yeah, I'm old...

  10. And one more thing. I see it spelled Preppie and Preppy. I've always used the 'y' ending, but see the other spelling a lot too.

Allie, can you research and get back to us on this? ;-)

  11. Both spelling are correct according to Webster's although they list "preppy" first. I'm partial to the "ie" version myself. Off to hunt for the YouTube clip of Ally McGraw calling Ryan O'Neal a preppie in Love Story...XXOO
