  4. Three cheers for Dominick Dunne! He knew my parents, who would tell him how much I adored his writing. He invited me for tea at his Hadlyme home a year before he passed away. I remember how 3 hours flew by in what seems like 5 minutes. What a lovely, lovely man...

  9. As a Gent of the University who will soon be entering schooling to one day be sporting the "white coat" I must ask, did you and babe meet before his schooling or after?

If before I commend you both, it is a difficult task to maintain a relationship during such a tremendously taxing endeavor as M-School is.

I noticed on a previous post that a special someone o yours is pre-M as well. I wish her the best in her foray into the M-field as well.

  10. Yes, we met several years prior to med school and got married b/t his first and second years. It was cake for us but, that's cuz I am a rare bird who truly understands the time commitment required of success in any field. Best of luck to you! UVa's theee BEST and once yuu get through the grueling second year it's downhill from there. Minus your surgical rotation, natch :)

  11. I would never have guessed you for a Temple Grandin fan, April is autism awareness month, btw. I think your blog contributes much to the good of society, and is possibly more than most do with degrees.

  12. I, too, admire Temple Grandin. Oprah..not so much.

I actually did laugh out loud re: overnight to the manor born air comment as I am surrounded by these people. However, the "New Yawk outta burro" accents are a dead giveaway!

You should get your degree if it matters to you. What's stopping you, really?
