My Uncle David has developed quite the cult following. So, to appease the masses, I'd thought I'd share the two page yearbook letter (click to enlarge) he wrote for my cousin Melissa when she graduated from Roland Park Country School in Baltimore. I think I just heard an audible groan clear from Bedford, NY. Sorry MAC, comes with the blood relation territory I guess...
Kindness of crowd favorite Uncle David. Happy Birthday! XXOO

This is wonderful! I hope to someday have words this wise and poignant for my family members! Thanks for commenting on my post-- your comment about having a tan is making me realize just how much I am wishing for a tan myself. Perhaps, I'll blog about it...hehe. Have a fantastic day!
ReplyDeleteOMG that is fabulous. Simply fabulous. I don't even know this little girl that grew into a woman and yet I'm in tears (rather wishing I DID know her.) Cheers to the Cullys for being amazing people that write like I wish I could and obviously love and laugh loudly.
ReplyDeleteUncle David's words are off the chart...great! Insist that he write something more often. I love these oldies and could read them forever. But the man has to have more stuff floatin' in that noggin of his. What's his motivation? Money? Hooch? Let me know.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!! Living here in Baltimore, I know many RPCS school girls. In fact, my best friend is a RPCS grad and is getting hitched to a Severn School grad in October!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I made your Baltimore Bomb Pie two weekends ago and have been sending people to your blog ever since for the recipe!
Instant tears.
ReplyDeletePlease tell Uncle David I'm totally stealing this when my--more tears--lovely children graduate in--how can it be so soon--eight and 12 years.
I'll credit him.
Wonderful! Where is Uncle David's blog?
ReplyDeleteDear Uncle David,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Kathie. I am an author. I appeal to southern/midwest women age 30 +. Please promise me that you won't try your hand at any kind of literary endeavor that appeals to this demographic. This is the only way in which to feed my 12 children and husband. I don't need any more competition.
Sincerely,
Kathie
P.S. I hear there's an extensive market for 'Science Fiction/Fantasy'
Uncle David is some writer...definitely must run in the family!
ReplyDeleteWhile I've enjoyed re-reading his pieces, I need some of your shopping tips pronto! Two weeks is too long! Come back!,,
What a great piece for the Quid Nunc! I'm an RPCS grad only a couple of years before your cousin.
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful!
ReplyDeletegreat idea for my soon to be june grads. I want to come up with something clever for them to have to take to college....for the dorm room.
