Summer Style Secrets Request

Susan from The Zhush blog asked me to share a few of my summer style secrets. Well, they hardly qualify as "secrets" but, generally fall more under the headings of "calling card", "must have" or "stolen from someone more stylish than I"...

It's not officially Spring til I pull out my Chanel Christalle. I have been wearing this perfume during the Spring and Summer months since I was in high school. The bff, one sister and a niece now follow the same tradition...

I am gaga for Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Creme. I have tried everything, and I mean everything, under the sun to keep my heels from revealing their sockless, toes in the sand, too much running to get skinny existence and this stuff is like manna from heaven...

Aide-de-camp Lizzie and I are huuuge Cool Change fans. I'm telling you, I have been stopped by grey haired women and teenagers alike while crossing the dunes desperate to find out where I got my cover ups...

If you are lucky enough to be in the vicinity of the East Hampton Calypso, they hands down have theee best selection of Cool Change styles and colors. Otherwise, unfortunately, it's slim pickings online. Guess that just makes them all the more covetable...

For years I always had a LancĂ´me Juicy Tube in Miracle on my person at all times. Then I read that Elle Macpherson swore by Berry Bold sooo out went the Miracle and in came the Berry Bold...

Those blessed with a Hamptons zip code get the Hamptons magazine for free but, we hoi polloi have to subscribe. It's a gooood beach day when I have a new issue in my pink and green Bean tote...

Kindness of Susan at The Zhush for inviting me to contribute to her Summer Style Series. Once again, someone must not be manning the velvet rope. I'm usually more of a taker, notso much the giver, in any department containing the word "style"...XXOO

  1. So, pray tell, where can one buy "Christalle" now that it is no longer available in the US market? Does Babe pick some up for you in Europe when he goes there on business? Could I bribe him to get me some? wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

  7. I will have to try the BB coconut cream - I have tried everything too and nothing really lives up to it's claims except Avon's cracked heel cream - it leaves normal feel very soft but I am always looking for other options!

  8. I had a time trying to replenish my Christalle this spring but, I finally found a stash at Galerie des Parfums in the Georgetown Park Mall in DC. And, as for the sunscreen I wear Patricia, it's Skinceuticals Physical Defense 30 for my face, neck, chest and back of hands (first place a women shows signs of aging yikes!) and Coppertone (my fav scent in the whole world) on the rest of my body in an SPF range of 30 to a shameful 6...XXOO

  22. You newcomers should do a search for 'closet' within this blog to get a load of her mad organization skills. She is a GENIUS at making a small space work while she summers.

  23. Loved your post on The Zhush and your header by Patricia - it looks like a house down the lane where I am in East Hampton, gorging on Tate's with three in tow. It's been so hot here that the Tate's have been relegated to the fridge! Looking forward to reading more from you...

  24. One of the (many) things I love about you is that you wear a feminine perfume like Cristalle with your great athletic style.
