Lust Items Du Jour

It was a small picture less mention in this month's Vogue but, two words got my attention; "India Hicks" and "socialites".

Apparently, Irving and Fine tunics are carried by India at her store the Sugar Mill Trading Company in Harbour Island and, in my book anyway, India Hicks is one of the high priestesses of good taste. So right there and then my fashion radar went off. And, the icing on the cake? The tunics are being furiously scooped up by socialites.

Tout de suite I went to google where i was disappointed to find the Irving and Fine website under construction til Fall 09. Drats...

And, then another blow when I discovered that the only purveyors carrying these must have items, Charlotte Moss and Scoop, do not have them on their websites either. Double drats...

A hopeful email to Irving and Fine results in the promise of a website very soon to come. Glimmer of hope...

If I could have only made it to NYC Tuesday for the Lilly event I could have killed two fashion birds with one stone!!! Sooo, in heartbreaking lieu of a purchase, I sent off a portfolio of pictures to Lizzie, my aide-de-camp of all things stylish, who became as nutso about the sight unseen tunics as I have.

One thing's for certain, I will be checking that Irving and Fine website every day over my morning tea until they are up and running. Just think how stylish my hopeful baby bump would be.

As promised, I checked the Irving and Fine website first thing this morning and there is some movement! Fingers crossed that by the end of the day they will be completely up and running and taking online orders...

  1. Oh dear, those are stunning. I only wish I had one to wear right NOW. It is after all, all about instant gratification. I was actually thinking of a blog dedicated to just that...but I see you have that covered. lol!

  6. Ahhhhh...stop it with the gorgeousness! And if it makes you feel better, I had my own drama in the dentist's chair this week ~ a cracked tooth (courtesy of teeth grinding).

  9. I adore India Hicks and have been "keeping up" with her for YEARS...way before she got so well known over here. I use to live in London YEARS ago and would see her in the magazines...and what is interesting is one day I read an article about her and her greek boyfriend of many many years. They were so serious. Then the next thing I know I'm reading about her living in the Bahamas with David Flynt Wood.

I've always been dying to know what happened to that greek boyfriend that I think she had grown up with.

  10. P.S. I even have a "file" on India Hicks...clippings from magazines of her home, articles about her etc. I suppose you saw her and her kids on the cover of Cookie magazine a few months ago? I snatched up that magazine in a nano-second. I was so glad she finally got her girl. (although I'm not a big fan of the name Domino..oh well)...

She and David and her boys were on the cover of JCrew catalog a few years ago too. I recognize all of them instantly. Okay, enough about India...I sound possessed! Lol...
