Tit For Tat

Mais oui, your prep guy should also get as much thought and élan put into the making of his Easter basket. But, whereas we girls like an equal quality to quantity ratio, the majority of guys are more comfortable with only one to two quality items.

If you asked Babe what his favorite gifts from me have been I'm pretty confident that he would, hands down, say his handmade needlepoint belts and cummerbund.

They most definitely require an investment of time and money but are very much appreciated and become instant prep heirlooms. The kit with a sweet note attached promising completion would be perfect. I've purchased all but one of the many, many kits I've done from the lovely ladies at The Elizabeth Turner Collection in Kentucky.

And, speaking of Kentucky...An additional "sure to win brownie points" idea would be a bottle of Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon...
...and a hand blown double old-fashioned glass from Simon Pearce.

Another Babe fav is Kiehl's Facial Fuel Energizing Scrub for men. Okay, okay...maybe he would argue that point saying he would use whatever I put in the lineup for him but it's definitely my fav for him.
And, the pièce de résistance of this Easter basket would be a Chick-fil-A gift card.

Trust me on this last one...

Kindness of Babe for allowing me to use his name and invade his privacy.

  1. oh, I grew up loving my trips to Elizabeth Turner and one of my best friends Mother worked there and finished all my things. She needlepointed rugs, wing back chairs and so many incredible things. That store is heaven. Babe has good taste!

  2. Oh that's right, you're from Lexington! Small, small world! I've been buying kits and finishing items with them for over 15 yrs. They actually used to allow me to do trunk shows for them since I bought so much. I love them! And , I also want to thank you P for including me in April Food Day. XXOO

As a fellow "Your Blog is Fabulous" recipient from Toad over at TTMB and District resident, I wanted to let you know how much I love your blog but also the DC needlepoint belt.

Where did you find that pattern or did someone hand paint it for you?

    Cheers,

    DAM

  5. Hey Dickie that is actually a UVA scene on that belt. And, honestly I am drawing blank on the name of the company that i bought the canvas from but, they do carry the finished product at Eljo's in C'ville. Now there is a possibility that Elizabeth Turner Collection mentioned above carries a DC canvas. And, if they don't they have done tons of custom orders for me in the past. The tricky part is going to be finding someone who adores you enough to do the actual needlework! Good luck!
