We're starting to feel the pressure of packing in as many bike rides, PTH's, DQ visits, fav sushi, Friday night tennis, crab eating, sunsets, easy sea level runs along the coast as we can...
But, the tanorexia's kickin' in, the sweaters are comin' out, Emma and Hilbil's are packin' up, and it's getting dark waaay too soon...
Summer's slipping away sniffle sniffle...
Kindness of Babe who will puhleeeze entertain the thought of heading to the local Connecticut DMV one morning before work and registering his car so he can snag our Resident of G'wich Tod's Point beach pass before the Ti-Babes and I roll into town. Mama's gonna need her sun and sand Methadone within 48 hours of arrival...XXOO
Try and hit up Island Beach as well. Worth it for the views and the ferry ride.
ReplyDeleteHey Alice,
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain, although here in NC summer lingers a tad longer. When I deposit my daughter at Vassar next week is when I usually feel the relative coolness and start to see the Fall writing on the wall. One question- What is/are PTH? -Michelle
uuuuuuugh, I know, right?!

Awww...You are leaving soon! I am happy to send you anything you are missing from Fenwick once you leave! Thrashers, Candy Kitchen, Fishers... :)
ReplyDeleteSummer is coming to a close way to soon for me! My kids are packing up also. Fall is going to be an exciting time for you and Babe. Can't wait to see the new place!
ReplyDeleteThere is one tree in our hood turning red already! How dare...
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean you've found a new home?
ReplyDeleteThe end of summer is always sad :-( My tan is suffering with all the rain we've been getting in CT lately...hope you bring the sun with you when you arrive!

It's the best part of the summer in New England and Newyorkachusetts kinda counts as part of New England ;-)
ReplyDeletetisk tisk...PTH Peak Tanning Hours. "The hours between 10am and 2pm when classes are empty in the spring."
ReplyDeleteSomebody needs to bone up on their Preppy Handbook codified set of abbrevs :)
G'wich has no idea what they are in for... Ha! Looks like you are making the most of your time - good for you!
ReplyDeleteI hear you...me and my little beach pals in Larchmont have panic in our eyes as we try and pretend it's not happening...
ReplyDeleteSeems you have fun spending your vacation time.
ReplyDeleteI also love your photos.

(Face turning crimson) How could I not know PTH? I mean I "know" what they are, but didn't "know"!!! I am properly chastised and getting my Preppy Handbook out for some much needed remedial reading!
ReplyDeleteDearest Allie,
ReplyDeleteHorrors! Pierre Deux has filed for bankruptcy and is liquidating all merchandise!. Yesterday, myself and another woman bought all the Eau de Maison they had left. I have a bottle tucked away for you should you have trouble locating some for your new home.
Best,
Charlotte
Found out that devastating news yesterday. And, merci for the tucking! Already have my backup plan in motion as I have reached out to the Ritz Paris for my second fav room spray :)
ReplyDeleteIt's slipping away here too, I sweltered up this morning and gazed and my tan thinking, come January I will look like a bottle of curdled milk.
