Well, I think it only fitting that I get to order a pair of Belgian Shoes. Currently, I'm courting the red suede with black trim...
But, also giving much consideration to replacing my long lost pair of fuzzy leopards. Decisions, decisions...Although...upon reflection he is heading straight to Tokyo after his week in Belgium...sooo, by my calculations:
1 week Belgium
+
1 week Tokyo
=
2 pair Belgian Shoes
Hebben een veilige reis Babe!
Kindness of Babe who knows I'd much prefer him to all the Belgian Shoes in the world. For the record, that doesn't release you from bringing moi a traveling trinket or two...XXOO
As the holidays approach, reds, tartans and bits of animal all look like old friends gathering. I do love the metallics too. Safe travels to Babe and to your newly shod footsies.

Babe wouldn't happen to have a single gay brother for a poor youngish boy who has taste well beyond his means, would he? (please say yes, please say yes)
ReplyDelete-Cheers, to new shoes and new loves!

Sorry Scott, he does indeed have a très handsome, European educated, stylish brother but, alas, he is happily married with baby number two on the way. I promise to keep my eyes peeled for any like prospects that would fit the bill. Meanwhile, what are we to do about that cursed taste beyond means star we were both born under??? XXOO
ReplyDeleteDamn, well a boy has to try. I don't know what I'm to do, but it looks like you are resolving the issue quite nicely!
ReplyDeletehope all's well with the kitties and I vote for the leopard ones!

If we had math like this in school I am sure I would have become a mathematician! I am with you on this, both please :)
ReplyDeleteI have the leopard ones and live in them. And did you know you can touch up a worn spot or two with a sharpie? Meg Carter
ReplyDeleteI see your sharpie tip Meg and raise you a White Out to touch up the white trim on the pastels tip. Also, merci for helping bff Kimba with her order. Can't wait for my loot to arrive...XXOO
ReplyDeleteMy Aunt Priscilla LIVED in these. They are the Weejuns of the Grande Dame. Which archetype, I might say, you appear to do a terribly good job of upholding. Hope your move is done and all is well.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize these were footwear of the stylish young set! Growing up it was always the 'older' ladies who wore Belgians. Although ~gasp~ I may now be older..........
ReplyDeleteBabe is gone so he can't see the loot you ordered. Unfortunately some of my loot came the other day when I wasn't home and Hubs was. Drats. He wanted to know what it all was and I said not to open them and I couldn't tell him because it was all Christmas gifts for him. (what a total crock!)...
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering how long I can get by with that...
Too funny, I just did a post on things I miss from Belgium and totally forgot loafers. Admittedly, mine was written on an empty stomach and features all things gastronomical! I'm with Patricia, you can't go wrong with red and animal print.
ReplyDeletePS- I saw your beloved Calypso featured in InStyle (finally got around to reading it) and had a moment for you :)

You can find them, however, they are not under the brand "Belgian shoes", usually under the store's own brand. If he has some time suggest he check out the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert, shoes, bags & chocolates... oh my! Being winter, he may even find some velvets, usually with a crest. Good luck & good travels to Babe! Is he headed anywhere else in Asia? My husband returned from Beijing with some great pearls. Just a thought.
