My Uncle David has developed quite the cult following. So, to appease the masses, I'd thought I'd share the two page yearbook letter (click to enlarge) he wrote for my cousin Melissa when she graduated from Roland Park Country School in Baltimore. I think I just heard an audible groan clear from Bedford, NY. Sorry MAC, comes with the blood relation territory I guess...

Kindness of crowd favorite Uncle David. And, lest I forget my cousin Melissa, thrust into the spotlight by mere association...XXOO

  1. Oh my goodness Alice! Absolutely beautiful and stunning. Can't keep the tears at bay. This letter is told for every parent with a girl. Having two girls of my own...it's my story too. Thank your uncle for me.

  5. A, yes, I did just groan here in Greenwich. It was definitely a good one, though. To give your readers some sense of my dad's range, how about Nana's funny obituary? It was picked up by the Associated Press and distributed nationwide. :-)

  10. Hello niece, Being the mother of Melissa I can verify that everything in Uncle David's ode to Melissa is true. The wonderful part is reading it again 15 years later and loving every word. XXOO Mom.
