Christmas Brunch

Even though we'll be guests of my parents at the beach this year I'm still planning to carry on the tradition of hosting my Christmas morning brunch...

Babe is gonna be thrilled to find out that I'm planning on carting a few extra holiday accoutremonts and a cooler full of specialty food items in an already sure to be packed to the hilt whip...

Williams-Sonoma's scrumptious Mini Croissants have been shipped ahead...

And, the Easy Sticky Buns I could make in my sleep...

But, just in case, I've got my Barefoot Contessa's FAMILY STYLE, at home and back to basics cookbooks with the Slow-Cooked Scrambled Eggs, Maple-Roasted Bacon annnd Sticky Buns recipes ready to travel...

What I dooon't have, is a solid plan for bribing Emma, Hilbils and Genevieve into peeling a couple dozen oranges for juicing and cracking and hand whipping several dozen large eggs on Christmas Eve like they did for me last year. Hmmmm she said, rubbing her hands together like Dick Dastardly....

Looks like I may have to don my Christmas morn fox buckle on the Eve of too since a li'l outfoxing will be called for with a certain trio that surely banded together with their citrusy paws on their way out last year to never EVER get roped into doing that again...

Babe, Pligie, Lolly and I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah and a joyous New Year! Please be safe in all your holiday travels and we look forward to seeing y'all in 2012...XXOO

  1. Won't you get to spend Christmas with your babe? That would be trop sad!
What size are those MacK-Childs cat bowls? Are they the small (1/3 cup) or medium (2cup)? i want to get some for my Dachshund, who only eats 1/3 cup a day but not sure if medium wouldnt be better....
    Happy Holidays from Wiesbaden, Germany!

  2. Merry Christmas!
Fortnum and Mason have failed to send my order, so it looks like baked beans on toast for us.

  4. Yes Stroods, we'll all be traveling to the beach together. And, those are the medium bowls you spy. I also have the small but, don't rec it. It's too small for them to comfortably eat food from, especially for a dachshund's long nose...XXOO

  12. Dear Alice,
Merry Christmas to you and yours. Thank you for always starting my day with a smile and showing me all the things I never knew I needed. Jon says 'hey', too. You have been a 'smile break' in his day many times, when he most needed it. Merci.

    Warmest regards, Kathleen

  13. I read this last night after I had grated and juiced six limes. My citrusy paws were about to fall off - and a night of sleep hasn't brought any relief.

  17. I know you won't see this for a while, but why do the oranges have to be peeled to be juiced? Do you use one of those juicers that aren't just for citrus?

  18. I have the Cadilac of juicers but, I've never heard about not needing to peel oranges. I'll def be looking into that though...XXOO
