One Lamp Off The Floor

Saturday was gloooriousss...

We headed out to Long Island and squeezed in one last feast at Lunch before they closed for the season...

One last margarita at the Blue Parrot before they closed for the season...

And, finally stumbled upon Ina's familiar cedar shingles tucked behind a très high hedge, obviously meant to keep the prying eyes of drive by stalkers, like moi, out...

On the way home I convinced Babe to pull into the Pelham HomeGoods where we found the perfect nightstand to substitute for the pair of driftwood commissions that were put on indefinite hold by the artist...

Unfortunately, we only found one.  Six additional HomeGoods visits within a 30 mile radius later and still, just one...

Between Sunday's HomeGoods hopping, a vuuuryyy unattractive meltdown with my Mercedes mbrace concierge service and my seasonal allergies hitting a nadir, me and the Ti-Bipps decided it was as good an afternoon as any to break the seal on the Avalon blanket...

Welp, at least Babe and I can end our debate about whether or not to terminate our subscription with the unreliable mbrace service. I have a feeling we may be the ones being "let go" after this morning's unpleasant scene. Summer used some unladylike verbs...

Kindness of anyone in the surrounding CT and NYC area for please emailing me if they spy the mate to this "24 x 24 Wood & Metallamp table (Dept 46, Style 106115)" nightstand at a HomeGoods. I'm already a tank of gas deep in my quest. What's one more...XXOO

  1. Excellent choice, Summer!
Thanks to your beautiful office desk-scaping I now have a Iomoi coaster and the plexicraft letter holder en route. You stalk Ina, I stalk you, ahem. And not at all in a creepy online stalkery way... (sure sure..)
I just love your decorating style!
Ps didn't you used to have the smaller Parsons desk? Is it only a space consideration or do you prefer one over the other?
    Tschuess aus Deutschland :-)

  2. That looks like one big margarita! (The photo I took yesterday morning of Patty peeking out from underneath of one of my blankets just pales in comparison to that photo of Pilge....that expression says "lap of luxury"!)

  7. I am heading to Home Goods today in search of glass bottles in which to store my homemade limoncello. I am in the Philly area, though, so a wee bit too far. However, if I do happen to come across it, I will let you know.

  10. I assume you tried all the white plains Homegoods?if not you should. I often find that they still have things that would have flown off the shelves at one of the Fairfield county stores. You could call them too. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you.

  11. Happy to check for the table in Greenville if you still have a Paladin willing to store it for you. Just let me know!

  12. Home Goods is often attached to
    T.J. Maxx. Perhaps another avenue?

  13. Is there more than one White Plains HomeGoods RiversideLilly? I hit the one on Tarrytown and it was a stinker. The New Rochelle and Pelham ones were by far the nicest of all.

And, yes, we used to have the small Parsons desk due to space limitations and now Hilbils has it at school. I much prefer the larger.

I'll consider, i.e., scheme how to get, any found table mates :)

  14. I think there is a HomeGoods in the Hawthorne/Scarsdale area? I would scope it out for you tomorrow but I'm back at work after today of... I always read your blog when I get up at 4:30 a.m. and of course I slept in today and missed your post - too bad! Do you have the ID number or name on the table to call the store for inventory check? Or could you Google it? I'm a merciless call and google type - anything to save a trip ;) Good luck, I love reading about the new digs!

  15. Hey lovely!

Do you want me to check the Short Pump store? Let me know (by Richmond but who cares! You need a match).

Also a fan of the blanket AND comforter, cheerful and classic.

  17. The cosmos might be sending you a sign -- a benevolent, protective signal. Return the table, say a loving goodbye to it; reassess; start search anew.

  18. Looks like a great weekend, esp. with the lobsta roll and stalking Ina....wish she was my aunt! Are you allowed to trade in relatives for a nice upgrade? I would trade in 2 of mine or maybe more if it took that to get Ina for an aunt.
I hope you find your table's mate....that drives me nuts when I am looking for another of something. xx

  20. Hmmm. Take a look at Gwynnie's bed in her London digs [below]; check out how the top of her nightstand is on the same plane as the top of her mattress. I think she's on the money with this detail. When comes time to submit specs for your commissioned driftwood table, Gwynnie would want you to consider this detail in your options.

  22. Thanks for the Gwynnie digs link anon! I remember this spread and it'a actually her Hamptons home. And, our table actually is on the same plane as our mattress. It's just that, after you add in our beast of a featherbed AND a fluffy down comforter, that plane jumps about a foot :)

  23. "Thanks for the Gwynnie digs link anon!"

You're welcome. Oh God, what she's doing to her London place, have you seen? I'm sure you've read that they've bought the place next door and are doubling the size of their space, yum. Ever since blogspot and I got into a fistfight, I've only had access to yak with you through the anon category, I fail to sign most of the time, this time I'll remember.....
