What Goes Around, Comes Back Around...

During the move I found this pic of me, circa maaany years/pounds ago, in the uniform du jour at the time and my very    first    pair    of    Belgies...

It just so happens, I have that exact pair of camel leopards currently doing 6 months time and counting in Belgie order purgatory...

And, recently snagged myself a new pair of the same J. Crew black Minnies...

Would you believe I spied the same black stretch perfect shirt at Crew this weekend to boot? Talk about outfit karma. Unfortunately, it's doubled edged outfit karma as I literally just mailed my mom the silk Gucci scarf I'm sportin' in the pic. Good thing I've accumulated a few Hermès stand ins since then. Now, off to light an offering candle in hopes of releasing my leopard Belgies from purgatory...

Kindness of this coming Monday where I get BACK on the ole workout/starvation routine wagon and attempt to resurrect the pic'd bod...XXOO

  1. So glad I'm not the only one on the workout/starvation treadmill!

  2. So I've been yearning for a pair of my first Belgians for awhile now and I'd finally decided that I wanted the leopard printed ones to be my first. Lo and behold, you posted this, and now it's definitely a calling to get them. If I'm an 8.5 in TB Revas, what size should I order? Thanks for your help! TGIF!

  3. I'm glad I'm not the only one who buys slight variations of the same clothes over and over and over. Who is that cute baby?

I've told you this before, but Belgian shoes are what led me to this blog in the first place, so of course they are very special shoes indeed.

  4. Dear Alice,
I hope your feeling better...wonderful caregivers, and they purr!
You are a classic! You never go out of style. Isn't it fun finding old photos...mine always have BIG har. Oh well, my mother always said I was a late bloomer.

    Warmly, Kathleen

  5. OMG...because of you and this blog AND your pal Maxminimus I have started collecting Belgians. Last week I was in the shop in NYC and ordered (ha,ha,ha) the same leopards! The wait begins...
    Love your blog!

  6. Talk to us about the cafe capris....similar fit to my beloved minnies?

They look a leeetle more relaxed (which would be excellent news). The 'classic' cafe look like it doesn't have the slash pockets of the 'regular' cafe (again, excellent news).

Am I way over analyzing these pants?

BTW, if that's one of your nieces, you are the Dorian Gray of the blogosphere

  7. With what you referred to as "insanity work outs" I doubt that ''circa maaany years/pounds ago" is very much a problem for you. But modesty is a virtue that you have artfully mastered.

  8. patsy well said re: Dorian Gray - and what a great compliment! my mom has the furry leopard belgians from 1990 - i still borrow them.

  9. You have such an eye for style!! Love the Belgians!

  10. You look EXACTLY the same! So no diet. Eat up!

  11. First of all, I had to google who Dorian Gray was. You're all nutz.

As per Belgie sizing, women order a whole size down but, men only half a size I believe. So, if you're a US 8.5 SSP, then you'd take a 7.5 in Belgies. That's been my experience and I've been through about 10 pair and counting.

Lastly, I messed up Patsy. Those are the Minnies I got. So glad you asked! Off to clean up my mistake...XXOO

  12. Thanks! Calling tomorrow...off to be put on the "so worth the wait" waiting list!

  13. Love the leopard print shoes, their my fav...
