Singed By The Hermès Sun

Like Icarus, I flew too close to the Hermès sun and got singed by Babe's hot lamps...

Musta been a false sense of bravado I was feeling from the Avalon blanket Babe just bought me that led to my covert shawl purchase in NYC. Thanks to Amy, who is now doing heavy penance, 'tis covert no longer since she spilled the shawl beans about two orders deep into Friday night's salty cocktail therapy...

The good news is, now I can wear my beautiful shawl to hide my hot lamp burns. The bad news is, I can stop hoping for that Double Tour orange box to appear under my pillow anytime in the near future...

Kindness of Babe who forgives easily. And Moi, who will remember that a debriefing is requisite before Amy and I cocktail together anywhere in the vicinity of Detective First Grade Babe...XXOO

  1. My tsk-tsking is, of course, strictly tongue-in-cheek. ;)

  2. Oh I hate it when girlfriends surprise husbands with tall tales! I'm also after a double tour - if I can ever make up my mind on what colour to buy. What shade is on you agenda? Copying is so much easier than thinking for myself these days.

  3. Very pretty! I haven't seen that one before, but it's very YOU -- of course you had to have it!

  4. I am loving this orange box action! Beautiful scarf but can we talk more about the blanket...it’s totally on my lust list. I would probably not let JCW touch it for fear of pilling! xx

  5. Ok, this proves how stupid I am. After seeing the picture of your new blanket, I thought it looked familiar but couldn't place it until a minute ago.

When I was in Kentucky for the thoroughbred sales several years ago, one of the buyers or barns was using these on the horses. I thought the "H" stood for "horse". :) :)
