Holiday Puhleeeze...

It has been a harrowing couple of days for us...

It was a rush back to the vet Wednesday morning because, in addition to the multitude of visible injuries sustained during our visit to the groomer, we had severe razor burn which caused the most discomfort of all...

So, six hours after an injection of Depo Medrol for the Ti-Babes, and a usually reserved just for flying Xanax for Mummy, we are sleeping for the first time since Monday night...

We still have a long row to hoe til we're fully recovered both mentally and physically but, I think/hope we're past the nadir...

So, after after my dinner of stale Naan and Rice Chip crumbs, I am going to finally wipe the Benadryl that was spit out on me this morning from behind my knee, curl up in bed and order the Documentary Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead. And, then we're all going to get a good night's sleep. The end.

Kindness of everyone for allowing me to bow out now for a much needed four day hols. I promise to be back Tuesday with bells and a tan on. Wishing everyone a happy, sunny and safe Memorial Day Weekend! XXOO

  4. Aw. So glad your babies are ok, and so aghast at the groomers and what they did. Sleep well.

  6. Poor kitties. I've thought about getting my long haired shaved for the summer (he has more mats this year than ever before) but now I'll think twice. I sure hope Pilge and Lolly are feeling much better. Their mummy, too.

  9. What in the world happened? Years ago I had a white long haired cat that I would have to get shaved some summers because of skin allergies and matting. She would never let me brush her. If I tried, I was usually injured! She was a look at me, but don't you dare touch me cat. Long story on how I got her, but she was lucky to find me. The vet would have to put her out to shave her back, but afterwards she loved for me to rub and scratch her there. But, once the fur grew back forget about it!! I asked my vet about just shaving her every summer and he didn't recommend it. Don't know why. She's gone now, but I still miss her and love her. She lived 18 years.

  10. The details are too graphic for daytime blogs but, in a nutshell, they were badly injured by either a dull/incorrect blade or a green groomer. It also seems that the blade was not changed out once it got too hot. Totally heartbreaking buuut, everyone's feeling nominally better today as the steroid shots have slowly begun to work their magic...XXOO

  13. Oh my gosh Alice that is horrible. I'm so sorry for the stress and strife. Enjoy the break. Really looking forward to seeing this documentary. I just lost 10 pounds on a whole food detox and have never been happier, healthier and living with more energy. Thanks for the great movie recommendation! xoxo

  15. I am so sorry for the Ti-babes and you! Kitty skin is sooo thin and easily injured by groomers inexperienced with kitties. Many groomers I have called around here just won't do kitties because of this. I hope all y'all ("all y'all" is an accurate term here in Texas) are resting comfortably now and that you can commence your holiday with much enjoyment!
