At $650 the problem isn't sticker shock Jess, but more the fact that those babies will become theee most expensive sweat pants in history, likely to be paired with Ugg slippers and my Nana's mink. Can you say Little Eddie Beale?
Ohhh how I love a buffalo check. And, I know just the Keishe pearl necklace for pairing with this black boy shirt...
Ahhh, yes...the requisite black riding pant of the season...along with my new picnic table button down and million dollar sweats, my uniform should be set for the upcoming months. Babe would like that last statement in writing please...
Also, in the fall Crew catalogue is a bit of modeling by the cast of The Romantics which debuts next month. Perfectly timed for that anti-climatic, mildly depressing weekend after summer ends...
Kindness of Jessica from The Love List for the heads up on the Sequined Harem pants and The Romantics trailer. I have BIIIG plans to be at the Sun and Surf theater on September 10th seated front and center. I'll be the girl in the pricey sweats covered in buttered popcorn with a smuggled in half gallon of Diet Coke concealed in a pink and green monogrammed Igloo cooler...XXOO
The Sun and Surf!!! The first movie I saw there was Grease in 1978 and countless others EVERY summer through 1983. I had forgotten all about it until just now!
ReplyDeleteharem pants? those should be left in the 90s with MC Hammer. i like the checked shirt and riding pants. i cannot wait for the Romantics. i love Katie Holmes. have you seen shots of her as Jackie O for the new mini-series? she looks fantastic. take care.
ReplyDeleteAlice, I just can't do the buffalo check. I wore much too much of it in the 80s... that and paisley and those damned stirrup pants that made even the anorexic look like she had major cankles... gah!
ReplyDeleteI made a mental note of those black riding while thumbing through the catalog. Thanks for a great mental image of you at the movies! xx
ReplyDeleteJust got my preppy decal in the mail. Now to find the Dick's. :)You do have to love the hot days and cool nights thought, right? I hate to tell you how happy I am for fall. I will send you a virtual bouquet of freshly sharpened number twos (ala You've Got Mail) to get you through. Does Hermes make pencils?
ReplyDeleteHave you noticed that J crews outlet store is going back on line?
ReplyDeleteLove the black riding pants! I tried them on and they fit a little weird, the black with the zippers was borderline scene/emo so I decided to think it over. Website says they come in dark green which might be nice! Good luck with the sequin pants...thoes are quite a statement- not something this wall flower can pull off!
ReplyDeleteActually, if you want to have a real Little Eddie moment you could wrap the harem pants around your head.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone can rock a sequin harem, it is you A. If you do buy them, you'd better share pictures!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely post pics of the sequined harem if you acquire them! Also, I just got the buffalo check shirt and I love it!!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't understand about 95% of your post, but the images are quite nice. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh Allie honey please no! Please tell me the sequin harem pants are a joke. They are a joke, aren't they? Oooohhh, something tells met they're not. ((Gulp))....
ReplyDeleteLove the Sun & Surf - I think the last film we saw there was Hairspray...about a month ago we went to Goldcoast Mall instead...
ReplyDeleteNot sure about those harem pants - but if anyone can pull them off (besides Jenna) you can!
Sorry about that LBT. In a nutshell, Jenna Lyons, the CEO of J. Crew, wore these sparkly harem pants this past spring on Oprah which left all us gals drooling. They have now debuted in the Crew catalogue for a mere $650 and immediately sold out. Little Edie Beale is the très eccentric cousin of Jacqueline Bouvier from Grey Gardens who dressed like a bag lady. You know, kinda like MaryKateandAshleyOlsen. Comprende??? XXOO
ReplyDeleteLaughing at your post! I am picturing you at the OC theater in your "fancy pants!" I am sure you would blend right in with the "OC Locals" - hmmmm...
ReplyDeleteGot it, cheers.
