The Switch

Last week we turned the corner and, it's all downhill to summer...

We packed up the velvet Belgies...

And, de-ribboned the summer kicks...

It was goodbye winter cashmere and cold weather running tights...

And, hellooo pastels and silks...

A brief intermission to take note of finding the perfect spot on the Hermès altar for the iomoi brass monkey guy I've been eyeing for holding Babe's watch and rings...

Then, back to swapping out cords and khakis...

For Lilly's and Skinny's...

Pulling out the bikinis and cover-ups still reeking of Coppertone and sea...

And, a much cheerier scene on the drying rack...

I'd say, see ya next season Thomas Mason addiction but, I have a feeling there'll be the occasional raid through May...

After that, we'll have some tan flesh that needs exposing...

Kindness of Pilgie and Lolly for being great li'l helpers, Thomas Jefferson for pioneering the whole winter/summer closet idea and, Babe, for understanding that buying something for his benefit doesn't count as a purchase no matter how cute I happen to think it is...XXOO

  3. Iam weeping with envy over all of those wonderful colours in your wardrobe. I really need to try to score a Lily dress from Ebay, I would love something swirly and pink and green.

  4. Oh, I wish I was so organized! I swear my winter stuff gets shoved in a drawer at the first sign of warm weather...which I regret every year! :)
Is it warm there? Still chilly in Indiana...

  9. What pretty colors! Aren't closet helpers the best?! I have a few myself, who also love Sunday evenings when it's time to put fresh sheets on the bed. What is that darling patchwork frock on the drying rack? Even though I have a small fraction of the items in your wardrobe, it's nice to see we have the same drying rack. ;-)

  10. I'm waaaaay ahead of you (and unfortunately even more ahead of ACTUAL warm weather lol)! Did the switcheroo as soon as the clocks changed. I love how i can fit so much more into my closet in the summer. I even threw out 3 trash bags of clothing this time! And by the way... Bonanno's sale is on, so if you wanted to add some more to your droolworthy collection... :-)

  12. When your Belgians get scruffy, do you send them back for the rubber soles? Just wonderin'!

  13. I changed mine out a few weeks ago. Well, I took out the winter clothes, but my summer clothes are at my parents home, 400 miles away...so, I hope to have them soon. I have a few shorts and bought 2 dresses so I would have something to wear! Thankfully it's colder today so I had something to wear.

BTW, my husband tried some Hermes cologne this weekend and it didn't last long at all, but it smelled divine!

Will you consider taking the code thingy off? I can't comment as often as I like because I'm often on my phone and it's a pain. Just a thought.

  14. Go TJ go! He really was a great innovator. See, even when you are back at home you get a lil' dose of C'ville...

  24. I like the ritual of the changing of the closets. When it stops raining up here I'll pack up my cashmere, too.
