Welp. We've got nuthin'...
Just a whole lotta whining, coughing and laying around with juuust enough energy for Pinteresting. Pretty soon we'll be pinning our cocktail du jour, Tylenol Severe Cold Formula on the rocks, in a Simon Pearce glass, rimmed in pink pop rocks and served up with a green and white swizzle straw...
Kindness of Babe for agreeing to an early lights out tonight. Between our shared flu and our pre-dawn smoke detector wake up alarm, we're plum tuckered out. Apparently, EVACUATE! EVACUATE! SMOKE AND OR GAS DETECTED IN THE GUEST ROOM! can also mean, Oh hey, btw, the battery in the guest room may need changing...XXOO
That is the most annoying thing. The sound actually freaks out our dog (when the smoke detector batteries are low).
ReplyDeleteOy. Sleep well.
Ohhhhhhh, been there, done that with the alarm! (Carbon monoxide alarm, in our case) Thankfully, battery replacement is the only thing required in these situations. Could be much worse.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you and Babe can get your batteries recharged soon, as well. Be well.
xoxo
That reminds me, we don't have single smoked detector in this house bear my nose.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been out of wellies for a week, nothing happening here either.
Kitty looks pretty cottony! I had a soft yellow Persian growing up and his name was Butterball. When my aunt came to visit, however, she never could remember Butterball's name so she always called him "Cotton Fluff!"
ReplyDeleteGet well soon!
Alice,
ReplyDeleteI hope y'all are feeling better, soon. Jon had that nasty virus and it lasted a bit too long...I used many Clorox wipes, EVERYWHERE!!
He couldn't sleep so I 'invented' hot cider and Ameretto. No caffine and a bit of the 'hot toddy'. It is a nasty bug. I hope you have someone delivering some good chicken soup..does Zabar's deliver?
Warmly, Kathleen
Hope all in your household feel better...soon!
ReplyDeleteLOVE those talking smoke detectors. They pick the best times to announce their dissatisfaction with the battery backup. As long as they work when needed tho....
ReplyDeleteGet well soon!
We appreciate all the sympathy. Personally, I'm in mourning for the loss of taste for my beloved 2pm Diet Coke. It's return will be the barometer for when I am well again. And, yes, we have been making chicken soup (mussel and saffron pour moi) and fresh juiced concoctions runs to Méli-Mélo across the street. I don't think I've been out of sweats in a week...XXOO
ReplyDeleteoh i love the simon pearce....
