Christmas Groove On

Time for a little down shifting...

Oh, there's still a never ending to-do list hanging over me but, I'm going to adjust my focus so that I may start enjoying the true meaning of Christmas with my loved ones...

Lolly and I have the Christmas playlist queued up on the iPod and are about to get our Pomander making on with some clementines and cloves...

I've a brand new needlepoint ornament just begging for a pot of tea, a millionth viewing and dissecting of  The Family Stone, trying to see what makes my family say Meredith is ME, and some stitchin'...

There are some senses that need stimulating...

And, a kumquat and bay leaf garland in need of finishing...

Yeeeaaah that one maaay turn out to be a solo project...

Kindness of Lolly for being my beeest girlfriend who's always game for my whims. Sorry Kimba, but I don't think you'd be nearly as pleasant if it were you I woke from a toasty, deep slumber to string fruit...XXOO

  1. Your cat is adorable! I have one just like it but cream and white. He is called Rupert. He is hilarious - no balance, no cat sense whatsoever, 'talks', and is very expressive - is your's anything like this?! Good luck with your to do list' - I am sure your cat will help, by sitting on the list? :)

  3. The Village Ewe is a great store. My friend Estelle is the owner and she is the best! A little needlepoint is such a nice thing to do on a dreary afternoon.

  7. "The Family Stone"?! Best part of the movie is the house and cutie Dermott Mulroney. Total downer of a flick.

I _do_ like the kumquat bay leaf garland though:)

  9. Sure wish I knew about clementines back in my pomander making days.

Although, I wonder if my Mom just figured an orange would keep us busy for twice as long........

  13. If you have any Clementines left, you should make the deliious dessert-y bread from the recipe Melissa Morris printed awhile back. Sooooo good!

Love your crafty talents and your helper.

  15. So glad someone else is obsessed with The Family Stone! I can watch that movie on a loop. Don't know why, most of the characters are awful (especially the mother, I hate to say it, but Meredith and her sister's married lives will probably be a lot easier with the Mother dead). Meredith, Ben and the house make the whole movie. I love Meredith. I know she is awkward but I find her endearing. And what is up with her shoe being broken and no one offering to replace it? Really? I would turn down the offer, but the parent of the child better make it.

  16. It's Riverside Avenue (can't remember the exact number) but it is the house on the corner of Club Rd and Riverside Avenue. You can't miss it. It was SO GREAT when they were filming. Major celeb spottings in the hood :).

  18. Family Stone is like the Christmas and slightly more depressing version of Something's Gotta Give. Just loooove the house in that. I dont actually watch the movie, just freeze frame and study every angle of the interior, lol. Assuming you've checked out hookedonhouses.com?
Love ghe needlepoint ornament... I am 80% done with a large needlepoint stocking I was supposed to be gifting last Christmas.... Will be next Christmas at this rate. I will stick to ornaments from now on!
Ps orange pomanders are just as easy, just use a toothpick to pre-prick the design and your fingers will thank you!

  19. A toothpick! Duhhhh, why didn't I think of that?! I could have made pomanders til the cows came home if I had had a tool. Merci! Next year...

And, yes, loooove that site! XXOO
