Be Careful What You Wish For...

"Well, I don't eat anything and when I feel like I'm about to faint I eat a cube of cheese. I'm just one stomach flu away from my goal weight." Emily in The Devil Wears Prada...

Mummy wishes she could eat those famous last words she jokingly uttered (or anything else besides dry toast and scrambled egg) hours before been stricken with the piggy flu. I'm grabbing a quick cat nap at the nurses station before tonight's shift begins. Fingers crossed it's not gonna be another one full of reoccurring Ginger Ale dreams and Daddy trying to strong arm her over the phone to drink that disgusting Theraflu...

Kindness of Templeton and Pilgie R.N. for keeping a faithful post on my sick bed the past two nights til Daddy M.D. returns. We've got a boatload of whining saved up just for him..XXOO

  1. Cat naps and plenty of liquids are lible to cure even the most challenging of hair balls. A friend says a bit of vaseline on the nose does the trick for releasing hair balls. Not that I have a cat to give it a try on.
As for you- take care and enjoy this weight loss. I had a similar "convalescing" 3 day "party in my bed" going on and lost nearly 10 pounds. Just clear liquids.
Think of it as a "Spa" therapy.

  3. Oh I remember identifying all too well with that line from that movie. In fact I even remember being excited that my gallbladder surgery would help me lose weight just thru not eating much for awhile. Of course I lost nada. It's sick what we women are forced to think about!

  8. There is nothing I hate worse than being sick. Take care of yourself! I thought of you this Christmas when my daughter sent me a photo of her adored cat sitting in the middle of her Christmas tree. Cute little face sticking out from the branches!

  10. Poor girl! I am so so sorry. I hate throwing up in the worst way. Like you mentioned, the only upside is the alarmingly flat stomach you will have once it's done. No consolation while you are in the throes of illness however.

  19. Well Miss Allie, that's one way to rest your running ailment. If only I'd known you were up all night! We could have BBM'd because I was up as well trying to console a sick college coed. Hope you recover quickly and that heavens for the two attentive nurses.

  21. I found the TLC show "Tori and Dean" to be just what the doctor ordered when I was sick. It just sucked me in and kept me on the couch.
