I went kicking and screaming to Avatar this past weekend. Not only have I been 3-D shy ever since barfing on Epcot's Star Wars ride but, I've also been scarred by Babe and his King Kong and District Nine types films in the past. I wasn't about to fall for his ole Metacritic bait again without a good fight...
But, being the good wife that I am, I caved, 3-D glasses and all and, to my non sci-fi lovin surprise it was fabulous. However, we shall keep that enthusiasm under wraps for now...
Cuz, someone needs a date to The Young Victoria and the guilt card will need to be played...
Kindness of Babe for drawing a little more on his memory of my good sportsmanship and a little less on my sneaky Varina buying ways while he's away this week...XXOO

Can't say I was wild about Avatar, but I took my granddaughter to The Young Victoria, and we both loved it.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about Avatar (my prejudices going in are similar to what yours were) but The Young Victoria is fab and I'm considering going to see it a second time. Also have a huge crush on Rupert Friend after seeing it, despite the fact that he probably weighs a good 20 pounds less than I do.
ReplyDeleteI heard Avatar is good, but I would much prefer to see Victoria. Our visits to the cinema are few and far between, though.
ReplyDeleteDH and I saw '"It's Complicated" yesterday and we loved it!
ReplyDeleteI know I won't be able to drag him to Victoria - I'll see that with a girlfriend. I might see Avatar with him...we'll see...
I'll go with you to YV!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are a good wife!
