There was our traditional first night in town Christian's Pizza, were it was slim pickin's after the ice hockey kids beat us to all the avocado and feta slices...Bodo's on the Corner for a bacon (moi), sausage (Babe), egg and cheddar on sesame bagel breakfast...and my beloved Montpelier (extra rare on the roast beef s'il vous plait) to go from the Gourmet Exxon for the next leg in our journey...
We mostly shopped for antiques but, I managed to squeeze in just a few personal gits including the all important sweats of Winter '12...
And, disappointed to find And George wiped clean of any Chuck Pinnell key rings in navy, I consoled myself with a new desk calendar with easel for the coming year...
Found this cute lidded fish dish at Artifacts which is ideal for storing my stove side Kosher salt...
Best find of all, was the mink bolero Babe bought me from the Vintage Vixen off the downtown mall...
It took every ounce of self control I had to reign in my greedy self from also tossing this vintage Hermès polo on the counter as Babe was generously paying for my mink. Just my size too, gosh darn it...
Kindness of Babe for buying everything my li'l heart desired during our day of Hooville shopping. Although, now you know my li'l heart was really a greedy wolf in grateful mink clothing. And, G'wich follower Kenny for the Vintage Vixen tweet alert. sighhh Poor Babe, he's now doing battle against a virtual team effort...XXOO
Nice shopping! Love the salt dish. Your hubs is certainly generous. Can you order the key ring? I hate it when places are out of what I went in to buy.
ReplyDeleteThat shirt is so damn cool I woulda bought it for you in a flash!
ReplyDeleteBabe said the exact same thing when he read this post at 9pm last night. Hope it's not too late! XXOO
ReplyDeleteAlice,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the mink jacket! Google 'A Touch of Mink' and you'll see what good taste you have. It's very hard to find blonde/beige mink. All the old Hollywood blondes wore it...Tippi Hedron in The Birds and in Madame X, the coat was beige mink. You'll wear it well.
Warmly, Kathleen
the mink is gorgeous! literally spent an hour in there drooling over all the beautiful clothes, going on and on about how in NYC vintage stores everything would be twice as much (and justifying why it was okay for me to buy things haha). I love your cville posts, thanks for sharing. oh and, my apologies to babe.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous mink! Love your blue fish, too.
ReplyDeleteOne fish, two fish, red fish, mink coat, blue fish!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you found Vintage Vixen, so many finds in there! Sorry the ice hockey kids snagged your avocado/feta/tomato slices!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great haul! I love the easel desk calendar...and of course the mink!
ReplyDeleteToday hubby bought a 300.00 jacket - in the car he asked me if I was planning to blog '...and the best news is, I get to spend 300.00 on myself!!!' LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove the shirt! All the tasteful bric a brac!
ReplyDeleteLove the bolero (and the salt cellar, too) !
ReplyDeleteOH! i miss Cville. i lived at Wintergreen for a couple of years. . . reading about your time there brought back some great memories! xoxo
