Greenwich On A Lenten Leash

I know the très welcoming Greenwichians are waiting to see their village through my eyes so, let me begin with this disclaimer; it's Greenwich through my chaperoooned eyes. If I had been let loose on the Avenue, there'd have been a weeks worth of posts returning in my T. Anthony duffel...

Babe had the reins this weekend and expertly rolled us into the Delamar Friday juuust in time for cocktail hour...

We strolled (code for shopping Police in tow) the Avenue where I bestowed my seal of approval on the town of Greenwich at the Fahrenkopf highly recommended Richards department store when I spied the display in the front window...

The whip We charmed our way into gated Indian Harbor to send one of my besties a pic text of her childhood home...

Then moseyed over to Babe's hot spot, Boxcar Cantina...

I had the organic salmon and goat cheese burrito, my beloved Patron margarita and looots of Alhambra sightings. The only thing that could have possibly made this meal any better was if one of those sightings and been around my neck...

And, 'twas a good thing I had a full meal at Boxcar cuz lunch the following day at Super Duper Weenie in Fairfield was all for Babe...

I made it a record breaking halfway through my New Yorker before my dislike and distrust of hot dogs could no longer hide behind all the yummy homemade condiments and made fresh daily bun. Babe polished off his Cincinnatian and my abandoned half while I turned my attention to the fries and ketchup bottle...

And, ranking right up there with the Hermès display window and the sea of Alhambra was my Daniella's Gelateria discovery. Ohhh, I'll be back alright Greenwich...

Kindness of my cousin Melissa for the fabulous dinner Saturday night. I'm sooo getting a crepe pan now. Seeing you, Chris and the girls was the perfect ending to our Greenwich weekend. We're just sorry the rain and cold kept an ill dressed us from watching you help coach the GA girls lacrosse to their Saturday afternoon win. I now see that a coat would have been a wiser use of tote space rather than three pair of Belgians...XXOO

  1. You definitely had some miserable weather up here. Can't wait to try Boxcar Cantina- thanks for the tip!

  2. I posted on your FB wall :) Seems like you had fun in good 'ole Greenwich and saw all the 'hotspots'. BTW, my kids LOVE Super Duper Weenie. You should move up here - seems like it would be a good match!

  3. Great post, nice and familiar picks, hoping you have more up your sleeve. The UPS man wouldn't have to come to your house quite as frequently if you lived around here...and there would be less babe interceptions as all the shopping is so convenient. Could be a blessing and a curse though. Sounds like you had a nice weekend, despite the horrible weather!

  5. Loved this post today...because you were in my neck of the woods last weekend. You went to Super Duper Weenie in Fairfield?! I can't believe it - the hot dogs are great but the french fries are the most fantabulous...ever. In my humble opinion of course. So glad you had a great weekend up here.

  7. The next time I come to visit my "real mom", she may have to take me to check out the Super Duper Weenie place.
