Needlework And Judy Garland To The Rescue

I was excited to finish my current needlepoint project but, the trouble is I was on a roll and now my idle hands are itching for more stitching. Waaay too much time was spent yesterday debating the belt possibilities I had queued up...

The time of year and the Eastern Sho gal in me was leaning towards the duck hunt scene...

But, there was also a part of me that wanted the simple fox and horn pattern...

And, for sure as soon as Christmas passes I'll be counting down the days til summer and can sooo picture modeling the tennis scene with all my lil Crew shorts and white Earnest Sewns...

Alas, those final months of winter are always killer so best to make the most of them and all that they're good for which is skiing. Minus of course a trip or two to Ixtapa...

So, the ski belt's been ordered and kitted with my favorite silk and ivory thread. Hopefully, it'll arrive just in time for me to curl up in front of the fire with some hot chocolate and a good Christmas movie...

Just as Babe heads back to Tokyo I'll be drowning my blues in Judy Garland and stitching...

Kindness of Patricia van Esscheat at PVE and Jessica Nell Graves at The Love List for their patience in my response to their recent requests. A wife of a consultant's gotta do what a wife of a consultant's gotta do to stay busy. And, well turned out..XXOO

  2. I'd go with the tennis one since it will more likely been seen in the warmer months (& a more fitting "theme") when you're tucking in just a shirt and not wearing a sweater. But that's just my 2 cents.

P.S. I convinced Hubby to go out for steaks last night. I have absolutely no idea why I had the craving...

  3. I'd go with the ski and tennis scene belts- how great would the ski belt be with cream cords and big crazy furry boots apres ski and the tennis belt would be darling with your white earnest sewns and a punchy-colored Lacoste!

  4. If you're taking votes, I would be remiss if I didn't support the skiers! We have fresh snow this morning in Jackson Hole :)

  6. Meet Me in St. Louis is TOPS among my Christmas movie list--such a classic and under-appreciated!

  7. Fox and horn!!!! With a green background..so cute. I only use silk and ivory as well. My pal Kim at Queen Bea Studio makes all sorts of cool bags to put needlepoint canvases on, including belts. I need to come up with some other options or someday I will have 40 needlepoint pillows and 50 framed needlepoint canvases. I need to find a successful man to marry to buy me a house to fit it all. 2010 is the year I will find him. Will keep you posted! xo

  9. P.S. And Meet Me In St Louis is soooo SATC. Remember? Jennifer Hudson gives the movie to Carrie Bradshaw to watch over Christmas vaca?

  10. Stitch 'em all! I am thrilled you have found our friend Meredith at M's. It is the most wonderful place and the nerve center of needlepoint. Have fun!
