UBER Clutch Cuz We're UBER Ready For Summer

There it was...Beckoning to me from the front window of fred's. The item that broke my good girl resolve...

GiGi's Uber Clutch in gasp! summer white...

A mere but you've been SUCH a good girl you deeeserve it...you've gotten a riDICulous amount of mileage out of your other GiGi clutches...it's white so you don't have a lick of 'splainin' to do til Memorial Day...later...

It's UBER roomy...

And, we're UBER happy we caved...

We're gonna have to sit on our paws to keep from breaking it out before Memorial Day...

GiGi NEW YORK is giving y'all 20% off with the code SUMMER for a whole month. Hmmm...gives me just enough time to decide between another in either the looks good against sun kissed skin mint or the Bain de Soleil girl black...

Kindness of Daily Crush's Katie Carlin for getting me hooked on the GiGi NEW YORK clutch in the first place...XXOO

Babe's Valentine Swag

Well, we heard all your requests and protests...

So, I roused the troops for a quick share of Babe's Valentine swag...

I mentioned earlier loving this Four Majors belt but, knowing Babe's fondness for sportin' ribbon had long ago waned, needlepoint was the obvious default...

I worked with a custom painter at The Village Ewe in Old G'wich emailing pics and requests and tweak after annoying tweak after just one more eensie tweak...

Including leaving a space for me to attempt Necessary-and-Proper's shmancy like monogram...

Et voilà!

We have the Masters, the US Open, the British Open, the PGA and thee Major himself all representin'...

A king's ransom worth of Vineyard Silk later...

And, all that's left is for me to finish stitching my way through my not so li'l Christmas ornament project that that trouble maker over at Summer In Newport roped me into annnd Babe's belt should be completed just in time to be re gifted next Valentine's Day...

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the Ti-Babes were not handling the reemergence of the "paps" in their life and, in a page right outta Sean Penn's playbook, Dickie (nickname du jour) made a rude gesture...

And Lolly attacked the photog and her camera. Lucky pour moi there's documentation and I'm currently shopping lawyers. And, TMZ offers...

*FYI Anyone interested in the Four Majors needlepoint canvas can call Estelle at The Village Ewe and ask to have her painter pump out another one. It's $160 un-kitted and around another $75 kitted. I was surprised at the width but, she painted it to be rolled under when finishing which means no binding stitch is necessary. For you showoffs, I'm sure you can just enlarge my pics and count the stitches. Just give me a holler if you need me to email more closeups...

Kindness of Punxsutawney Phil for not seeing his shadow. Otherwise I'd be coming to you from a SAD rehab facility...XXOO

SAIL to SABLE

I know, I know...the fat lady done sang...

Queue the N'awlins jazz funeral and mourning for the death of summer '12...

And, even though I'm not ready to utter that four letter "f" word, I thought I'd better share my recent SAIL to SABLE find before the ship completely sails...

See that kelly green cord number in the middle? It's one of the only handful of select items I'm making room for in my wantfornothing closet over the coming months...

And, if I wasn't being so disciplined, I'd be hunting down and snatching up this winter ooo that tasted bitter white and fuschia one too...

Annnd the red and navy Patriotic Pride for November's big election...

Now, ya see that long white tunic beauty with the turquoise trimming?

And, this Smitten Seersucker one? Yeah, queue those babies for summer '13. There's always room in that closet...

*FYI SAIL to SABLE size conversion chart:
00 - xx small
0 - x small 0-2
1 - small  4-6
2 - medium 8
3 - large 10
4 - x large 12-14

Kindness of everyone for patiently and loyally awaiting my return from this high holy season hiatus. Babe, the Ti-Babes and I had a glorious summer and we're not ready to unload the beach chairs and vacuum the sand out of the whip quite yet. sighhh....The first born Catholic girl in me just hates letting y'all down but, I will only be posting on occasion. You'll never know just how much we truly appreciate all the kind emails, comments and love sent our way. We'll still be here. Just more in a juggling masters swimming/starting Crossfit/loads of travel on the docket/recently dusted off the needlework, craft, reading and cooking projects kind of way...XXOO

Grovin' In My Island Company Short Shorts

Aide-de-Camp Lizzie and I have spent the past decade on a perpetual hunt for thee perfect linen short, the more late 70's/early 80's vibe, the better...

So, my recent discovery of Island Company's linen Short Shorts most definitely merits coming off the beach for a quickie post...

Especially considering my inaugural pink pair has let me spend the last week getting my Ali MacGraw on...

And, with a White pair en route...

I feel an encore coming on...

Cue the Camel...

For my sporty Lauren Hutton moment in the sun...

Then the Caribe for pairing with my Mexican embroidered pheasant blouse...

And, I'm a très sun kissed Christie Brinkley sipping Margaritas with the crew after wrapping up an SI shoot in the Seychelles...

By the time I score the Navy pair...

My summer abs should be Pucci scarf as a halter worthy enough for my best Marisa Berenson cavorting in Capri...

*FYI, I feel like the Short Shorts run a smidge big so, if you're between sizes I'd default down. I'm usually a 6, took a medium and am now awaiting smalls. Fingers crossed my badonkadonk passes the size down muster...

Kindness of bff Kimba for confirming my Island Company as potential source of a great linen short suspicion with her firsthand account of looting their Naples store. KNEW I should have tagged along on that trip she took with my sister Julie...XXOO

Paris In Spring

Nooot reallyyy...

But, a girl can pretend when she has the Saint James Galathée tee in a bevy of Spring colors like frosted aqua...

 Bright celery...

 Caribbean pink...

And, good ole navy paired with her capris...

Since it's, fingers crossed, on the verge of getting too warm for their nominally heavier weight Minquiers III tee...

I stopped myself at two. Annnd, here's hoping they stay folded til October...

Kindness of J. Crew for offering up the Saint James tees because, woman can not live in popovers alone...XXOO

The Endangered Two-Toned Varina

I was operating on two and a half hours of sleep, shins throbbing from my Concourse D to Concourse B in Jack Rogers sprint when I spied them walking past in the distance; navy Varina's with a red cap toe...

And, if I hadn't been tied up behind the velvet rope of Delta Customer Service trying to resolve my missed connection, there would've been, at the very least, a pic to go with this tweet. At most, a tackle...

Although I have searched Google high and low, the Red/Black Raffia and Patent...

Along with the sighhh Black/Toast combo, are the closest I've come to finding the obviously endangered two-toned Varina. I think I could learn to make do...

Kindness of anyone who may have any intel on the navy and red cap toe Varina I think I saw through my haze of missed connection tears and rage for piping up before they're totally extinct...XXOO

The Popover

Yeah, reeeaaal big surprise that all the summer duds I unpacked sit idling as the temps dip back into the 50's. Ev-er-ee stinkin' time I tell ya...

So, I've decided the popover shall be the piece to bridge the gap in finicky Spring degrees and, after conferring with aide-de-camp Lizzie, snagged my first one from J.Crew in faded chambray...

Now I've my sights set on another from Ann Mashburn in Fushia Gingham Broadcloth...

Annnd, Navy Gingham Broadcloth. Natch, such an investment, not to mention flirt with Mint.com disaster, is one sure fire way to get us back into the 80's...

*Even though J. Crew is sold out of a bunch of sizes in the faded chambray Popover, I was able to secure a medium just by calling 800.587.5819 and launching a search...

**FYI, the Ann Mashburn popover runs small and most peeps, especially those with swimmer's shoulders like I, size up...

Kindness of Lisa at Amid Privilege for sharing feedback on the "serious high quality" of her Ann Mashburn shirt and, Charlotte Goldfarb who emailed me like, two years ago also singing Ann Mashburn's praises. Welp, better late than never Charlotte. Thus the need for two Popovers. Just making up for lost time...XXOO

Jules Reid Trunk Show

Sadly, I'll be missing my annual get in trouble Jules Reid trunk show in G'town this weekend...

Sooo, rather than heading into the dressing room loaded down with lust items in my fav Jules' print du saison, daisy stream green, like The Beatrice...

Another Peony score...

The Emma, who'd get so much wear she'd eventually start trotting herself out...

The just a beggin' for a date with my white AG's Virginia...

Annnd, much coveted John-John, I'll be enjoying the lush green of the Lawn in C'ville instead. Yup, there'll be no me and a heap of daisy stream green colluding to outwit our mint(green).com nemesis so, Babe and his green can breath a sigh of relief...

Kindness of Jules and Ethan for knowing I'll be there in daisy stream (pea) green (with envy) spirit...XXOO
