Rome Wasn't Built In A Day...

But, apparently the stats are in on how quickly it can crumble...

Sooo, after a month and a half of...no working out, several back to back wine soaked weeks annnd the past weekend of gluttony which included (but was not limited to) Barefoot Contessa's California Pizzas and Outrageous Brownies, 3 lb lobsters and copious amounts of melted butter to go with...the piper came a calling.

But, evidently his flute is only heard by overweight, outta shape human ears cuz my support staff nodded off halfway through the first of my two P90Xhaustive punishments...

No doubt resting up for a big night of dumpster wastebasket diving while I'm attempting to sleep off the day's torture...

Pull it together puddies cuz the bff has roped Mummy into signing up for her first half marathon and we only have til early December to build Rome back up. And no more chocolate allowed in this house! Butcept, on Saturdays...

Kindness of Sgt. Slims of the
Maxminimus Butt Police for only issuing me a stern warning after being "tipped" off concerning my recent slippage by a certain Belgian Shoe wearing Deep Throat. It actually worked out quite well. I bribed an officer of the Butt law AND got the rest of the brownies out of the house. That's whatcha call killing two problems with one Tupperware full of chocolate...XXOO

  2. Ugh....totally feel your pain. Haven't exercised in a few weeks and feel like a sloth. Now I'm sick. When it rains, it pours! Good luck with your plan, I know you'll make your goals! :-) XOXO

  6. I skipped about 6 weeks of yoga and I have to say, for someone so zen my yogi can be a little bit mean! I went back 2 weeks ago and at one point almost cried a little! Of course then I got sick and have now missed two more weeks! *sigh*

  7. You will love Kiawah! I did it last year...very flat course, and The GORGEOUS Sanctuary resort serves as homebase. We went into Charleston for an indulgent post-race dinner at Slightly North of Broad (S.N.O.B.!) - it comes highly recommended!

  8. Oooohh, half marathon! I'm jealous of your ambition.

We have instituted the no-dessert-during-the-week rule in our house and by we, I mean me. Grrr, for husbands who can lose weight by having only two slices of pizza.

  9. I'm doing the wave in my office for you now. Sad little wave of one, but imagining the cat tales are part of it to make a bigger impact. Best wishes for this fancy run training.

  10. This was just what I needed to read after my very own two-three weeks of gluttony and not working out. Love the cat photos - they must be best friends already!

  11. Can relate. Barefoot Contessa's recipes are mega-large, which are fine for savory meals because you can freeze them...but those Outrageous Brownies have to be whisked outta house and home right away or all the caffeine and sugar melt away all motivation to stay fit and trim. My teenage son made her peach and blueberry crumble all summer and now he has started in with the apple crumble...meh...
