Encyclopedia of the Exquisite: An Anectotal History of Elegent Delights

I'll have to be sure and save a li'l space on our Parson's shelf when I unpack our books this week...

As soon, as I reached Tory Burch's mention of Encyclopedia of the Exquisite: An Anecdotal History of Elegant Delights in her September Town & Country interview, there was the RIIIIIIP heard round the beach...

This is just the kind of intelligence a good dinner party guest needs to have at her disposal...

“Jessica Kerwin Jenkins’ Encyclopedia of the Exquisite is a beautifully researched and written book. Every story — whether on the origins of badminton or the art of Renaissance sotleties — is fascinating and inspiring. I kept turning the page, wanting to learn more.”
-Tory Burch

"A wonderful mélange of chic and amusing tidbits—this book makes me smile."
-Michael Kors

"Jules Léotard's got nuthin on our in house acrobat, Pips, and his heartstopping thrilling 'tightrope walking the banister with a ten foot drop' act."
-Allie Von SummersVerb

Kindness of Babe who has promised to never, EVER ask me help him lift another ten ton book box again during any future moves THUS lifting my hesitation to constantly add to the library...XXOO

  3. Love the image of the "rip heard round the beach." So appropriate. I love and lug my books from house to house.

  7. Dear Ms Von SummersVerb,
Thank you so much for your kind endorsement. I'm thrilled to know that the book is making its way into the right hands. And I'm very happy to come across your fantastic blog.

Here's hoping that your summer never ends,

  8. At the risk of sounding like another lemming, I added this to my wish list as soon as I read about it in T&C.

    Lemmings are good, yes?

  9. Allie,
I know that you are busy and all but I am still inspired by your closet organizational skills. When do you turn over your closet? And can you describe your process? I'd like to think that someday I will find myself as orderly as you.
    Thanks in advance,
    Bashful

  10. Bashful, just type "No Hoarding Allowed" into the search box of my blog to pull up my closet post. And, in case I don't mention it within the post, my "process" is ruthlessness...XXOO
