The Pink Kidskin Gloves Are Coming Off

Yesterday was the intended wrap up for all things pink but, I'm snowbound, yet again, and it's either virtual shopping or real shopping. I can tell ya, Babe opts for the former...

I am dying to set up a private appointment with Sissy Yates for a serious perusal of her gorgeous jewelry designs. Til then, I'd feel pretty darn confident with these as my sight unseen plunge. Fingers crossed that I can convince her to get her infamous sister, Ally Wentworth, to sign my copy of The Wasp Cookbook post purchase!

Do I really need a holiday excuse to add to the collection? I think not...

I know a certain Furman sophomore that will be quite happy to hear that the pink Wellies are back in stock. I know her favorite Aunt is thrilled...

Two days, that's all I want. Two days, The Atlantis, Babe and I, and sun up til sun down, world class water sliding, with periodic Nobu breaks. We'll be sooo exhausted at night we won't care that we are less than enthusiastic over the accommodations and that the only food I can tolerate there is the sushi...

The bff is in mourning over these Jules Reid pink trousers which she forgot to take under consideration prior to her insane commitment to a year of no purchases. Bryan, are ya listening? Gifts received don't count...

Stalking Ethan Drath of Sherman Pickey and his Lilly Pulitzer cuff links spied on Facebook. My Machiavellian plan involves tracking them down and presenting them to Babe under the guise of a Valentine's gift. Here's where I twirl the tip of my mustache between my thumb and forefinger while laughing diabolically...

Ahhh yes, the elusive Hermes beach towel. ♫Onnne daaay my prince will come...♪

Kindness of moi for not making a single purchase while trapped in the beach house weathering the blizzard. Unfortunately, I am not fairing as well in the chocolate intake department...XXOO

More Pink Ladies

One more round of pink goodies then I'm off to track down the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, which debuted today, before I'm snowbound yet again...

But, for now I'll just picture my own SI layout involving me, this Melissa Odabash Antigua bikini and a return to trip to la playa Mexicana in a few weeks...

The iconic Dorothy Draper to add some pink to your bookshelf as recommended by the chic Tory Burch...

These sweet Meg Carter studs are just screaming, "pair me with a Ralph Lauren cashmere sweater and post south of the border tan!"...

There was a lot of chatter over my Smython of Bond Street passport cover a couple of weeks ago which, is actually a discontinued style. But, honestly I prefer the new hot pink version to mine. Babe just went on high alert at that statement...

A couple of pink options in CKB's new wide ribbon belt offering...

About fifteen years ago, I was with my friend Dorli when she ran into her pal Kelly Klein in the checkout line at the Wellington Publix. She is beyond gorg in person and I took particular note of her rosy pink cheeks. Kelly later divulged to a mag that the only makeup she wore was FACE Stockholm highlighter in Radiance (boo-hiss...pic of that color not avail). It officially became part of my repertoire, natch...

The good thing about these Roberta Roller Rabbit jammies is that they also come in matching adult sizes so you can match your preppy minnie. I own this pink elephant pair and they are just as cute on me as they are on Miss Affleck here...

Total teaser here but, I stumbled upon this giant ball of pink pony elastics through a site listed on someones blog. Unfortunately, I can not recall where. Anyone? Anyone?

*Maryland Pink and Green logged in first thing this morn with the A. Tierney link for the pink pony balls. Lucky for us, her twincesses are fans. Merci Bethany!

This Deborah Lippmann Makin' Whoopee hot pink polish makes me wish I liked mani's and pedi's (I know, quelle horreur!)...

I need another scarf like I need a hole in my head but, if I were to get another one...

And, lastly how precious is this hand painted pink polka dot crayfish found on faithful follower Grayson Saige? Unfortunately, it makes me want a beach cottage even more and that comes with a slightly larger price tag...

Kindness of Babe who is giving me permission to head back to Mexico for another week of fun in the sun for my Valentines. And, possibly a new pink bikini to go with? XXOO

Pink Ladies Do Valentines

Pink is the wooord... is the wooord...is the wooord... At least that's my theme song for this Valentines and I have ferreted, loaned and borrowed some hue friendly goodies for sharing, i.e., hubby/bf suggesting, over the next couple of days...

A new Lonchamp in Rosaly will be great for summer and lesson the blow when it does come time to pack up my beloved Gucci hobo for the season...

Deborah Lippmann's Dream a Little Dream of Me heading back to Mexico with this sheer shimmer polish on my tan piggies...

Ahhh, the coup de grâce of all the offerings, Canfora Layla sandals in close enough to qualify purple...

Stumbled upon these pretty Tory Burch jammies during a drive by at Kappa Prep...

Kristin Pearce at Summer in Newport blog is offering these très preppy notepads, a set of four, for $65. Email her here for inquiries, orders and general drooling...

And, just like Suzanne Sugarbaker said on Designing Women, a linen hankie IS a sign of good breeding! Give a glimpse of yours from D. Porthault and it'll also be a sign of good taste...

Kindness of Hopsey and Kristin for the swanky TB pj's and note pad ideas. If ever I feel like my virtual loot pile is in danger of dwindling, a stroll around the ole blogging hood and I'm good to go...XXOO

Babe's Casserole Trifecta: Third And Final Contender

I've been recycling my friend Kathleen's Enchilada recipe for years and it's one of Babe's absolute favorites. So much so, that occasionally I have to shelf it so Babe doesn't end up in "EA". You know, Enchiladas Anonymous...

Enchiladas

12 flour tortillas
6 chicken breast poached in white wine and chicken broth (reserve broth!)
2 cups chicken broth
white wine
3/4 cup chopped finely onion
8 oz package Mexican grated cheeses
1/4 cup flour
cup sour cream
can diced mild green chilies

Poach trimmed chicken breasts in the 2 cups chicken broth with generous splash of white wine. Cool then slice chicken into shredded, bite sized pieces.

In each tortilla place approximately 2 tablespoons chopped chicken, 1 tablespoon chopped onion and 2 tablespoons shredded cheese.

Roll up each tortilla and place seam side down in a 9x13 casserole dish sprayed with olive oil.

Replenish the white wine in the cook's glass...

Melt the butter in a saucepan, blend in flour. Add the reserved poaching broth and cook stirring constantly until sauce thickens and bubbles. Stir in the sour cream and diced chilies cooking til heated through. Don't boil! Pour sauce over enchiladas and bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Cover with remaining shredded cheeses and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Kindness of Kathleen Abercrombie for the tons of mileage Enchilada recipe. And, for forgiving me the less than fantastic staging due to the fact that all my pretty cooking accoutrements are in storage...XXOO

Bikinipalooza vs Lilly Pulitzer

This is the barometer I use each year to begin the mental count down til spring. Once the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue hits the stands I believe it becomes socially acceptable to start building the incoming season's wardrobe...

And, although I have another week before the 2010 SI issue hits the stands, I got a smidgie false start this year when Lilly Pulitzer posted this waaay too inspirational pic on their Facebook page. Let the season begin!

This unofficial jump on my summer wish list has me lusting after the Whitney Poncho Engineered Print, which totally appeals to my inner Mrs. Roper...

All white bottoms on deck for the très 90's prep Roe One Shouldered Stripe Top...

And, the Nan Kemperish Mira Jumpsuit Printed...

Yup, this year bikinipalooza has been usurped by Ms. Lilly...

Kindness of Elle MacPherson for having the magic ability to make the information Babe digested up until her appearance completely fly out of his pretty lil head...XXOO

Valentine's Spoiler Alert Pour Homme

Babe either already possesses, is soon to receive OR is about to have a full fledged campaign waged upon him for why he should have the items listed below in my Valentine's pour homme suggestions...

J. Crew cashmere v-neck sweater in purple, the color of royalty. That's what ya get when you refer to your wife as "Queenie"...

Babe has already devoured this book and I have it on deck. That is, I did until my dad who was reading it felt obliged to turn to me on the beach every twenty minutes or so and give me a book report. So it's more like I'll be re-reading it...

Oooo and find of the month, courtesy of my très fashionable friend, and ex-G'town neighbor, Alexandra, the Ledbury shirt collection for men. This southern duo have done their due diligence when it comes to the art of shirt making. I'm eying up the work shirt in blue gingham for Babe...

As well as the dress shirt in pink royal oxford...

...with color contrasting french cuffs for a lil conservative flash. Can not wait til they come out with a women's collection!

The Wiley Brother's hoof pick belt as modeled by Maxminimus in his Heathrow Airport mug shot...

And, as part of my continuing political education I recently purchased Boogie Man: The Lee Atwater Story DVD. Per usual, Babe intercepted the package whilst I was sunning it up in Mexico and, now we have both enjoyed it. Boy that man had charisma in spades. Not to mention, what had to be the best head of hair in DC...

Hmmm...wonder which item's gonna take some campaigning on my end? Maybe a sneak attack's in order...

Kindness of Alexandra Lee Small for reporting in with the fabulous Ledbury find. Templeton, George, Babe and I really miss Beau and Capote and you. NYC dinner date at Ippudo in a couple of weeks? You wear your grandmother's white rabbit again and I'll wear my Nana's mink...XXOO

My Welcome Home Package

As soon as I finished smothering Babe and the boys in kisses upon my return from Mexico, I tore into my awaiting Chuck Pinnell package...

Inside, my much anticipated needlepoint belt finished with Chuck's sterling hoof pick...

I may have to dub this one as my all time fav completed projects and can not wait for my red velvet Belgians to arrive and officially complete my uniform du jour...

And, killing two birds with one stone, a pic of the belt annnd a filled request for a sneak at my tan. Anymore than this sliver of exposure under my Petite Bateau tee and Dr. Proper will have a coronary over his Morning Dew...

Kindness of good ole Maxminimus for the heads up that my hoof pick (he has a more colorful name) buckle apparently has now made it onto the TSA's list of regulated items allowed for carry-on. Between this and the pearl handled buck knife charm on my bracelet I'm a walking lethal weapon...XXOO
