Bff Kimba's Christmas Wish List Guest Post

Today begins a series of "Christmas Wish List" guest posts, from the Summer is a Verb usual suspects, and I'm kicking things off with the bbf. Kimba is toying with a New Year's challenge involving nary a personal purchase the entire coming year (shudder). Preceding are her beautiful babies, and follows goes down on record as her fabulous last hurrah...

"These Billy Reid boots are so cute..."

"Dreaming big, really big..."

"From Williams Sonoma the Griddle/Grill Pan Set..."

"And, the Cole and Mason Electric Salt and Pepper Mills. Who says we aren't practical? Bryan and Babe that's who!"

"Thinking photography may be my next pursuit with the Nikon D90..."

"A string of books from Amazon beginning with Julia Child's My Life in France..."

"My Last Supper: 50 Great Chefs and Their Final Meals..."

"Breaking Dawn (The Twilight Saga Book 4)..."

"and David Busch's Nikon D90 Guide to Digital SLR Photography. Could name 50 more books given the time..."

"Origins Salt Rub is the best product ever for dry, sun exposed winter skin..."

"John Derian's handmade Moroccan Pouf in chocolate..."

"But, what I really want for Christmas is for these two (along with all children) to grow up in a world involved in fewer wars and blessed with more peace...a world with less suffering and gobs of love...a world with reserved judgement and greater faithfulness...and a world where friends and family don't get sick. The Rolex would be good, no great, but these things would be much, much better."

Kindness of Kimba for guest posting with her usual elegance and adding about six items to my wish list. Babe especially thanks you for that. Now, you keep that hubby of yours from telling mine about that insane New Year's resolution...XXOO

Stocking Stuffers Pour Hommes

ADG was busy this past weekend getting the Maxminimus digs all decked out for the holiday but, apparently not too busy to squeeze in a quick scolding over my inequity in stocking stuffer choices. I'll have you know Maxie, I pushed back my wish list guest series to throw this post your way. Hope that LFG's got deep pockets...

I'm smack in the middle of this Larry McDonald tell all and I can't get enough. I grabbed it from the library on CD for a recent road trip and I now look for any excuse to run errands and pick up where I left off...

On one of the rare occasions I ventured out of my usual blogging hood I stumbled across this Southern Marsh Collection foxhunt tee and socked it away for a rainy day. Snowy will work too...

The requisite tie...Just make sure it falls under the Hermes, Ferragamo or, according to my friend Amy Fahrenkopf, the Bvlgari umbrella of good taste...

Babe prefers a money clip to a wallet and this handsome Elsa Peretti for Tiffany's thumbprint model even has me trying to drum up a need for one...

Love a guy in Vilebrequins and I'm currently eying up the Moorea's in the Lanai print for a certain someone who I hope to see roasting alongside me on la playa Mexicana...

Lure him into the kitchen with my favorite Wüsthof knife, the Classic Hollow Ground Santoku. It's a win win gift...

A needlepoint cummerbund kit from M's Canvashouse with a promise to complete. And, with Valentine's looming, if you time the finishing just sooo it could become two gifts for the price of one..

Shotgun shell studs from B.D. Jeffries to compliment their swanky, new needlepoint cummerbund. Throw in the shotgun cartridge cufflinks and they'll be black tie perfect...

Every year I buy at least one Steinbach nutcracker hugely discounted from Marshalls for "our" collection but, sadly this year they don't seem to carry them. Thank goodness Jill at Tinkled Pink and Green sent me this picture text when she discovered secret stock at T.J Maxx's HomeGoods store...

One of my all time fav stocking stuffer gifts for Babe was the classic Tiffany's engine-turned sterling buckle paired with a B.D. Jeffries alligator belt strap. FYI, these straps are très more affordable than the Brooks Brother's version...

Since the girls got the Frank Gehry dream cuff I thought it only fair to offer the guys a similarly outrageous trinket with these antique hunting dog cufflinks...

Sneaky, no doubt, but it's one sure fire way to get away with getting that nearly $700 Eres lingerie set you had to walk away from in NYC last week while the lady in her sixties, one dressing room over, took one in every color. All under the guise of Christmas generosity, natch...

Kindness of ADG at
Maxminimus for forgiving me exposing LFG to the PG13 offering and Jill at Tinkled Pink and Green for keeping me in the loop clear from Texas. Also, Amy Fahrenkopf for the continuing fashion education...XXOO

Stocking Stuffer Extravaganza Continued

Back with a few more goodies to stuff your stockings. Some are repeats, and one is a threepeat but, thought maybe some of ya may need reminding...

I have recently upped my usual 6 mile runs to 8 and thus feel très deserved of the Garmin Forerunner 405CX. Très deserved if you're listening Santa Baby...

Branching out in my Vie Luxe candle selection with socialite and founder Majorie Gubelman's recommendation of the St. Moritz scent for the holiday....

Make sure your stocking's big enough for books cuz this one looks like the perf read for a week spent roasting on la playa Mexicana...

Babe and I have always kept Iomoi custom coasters on our bedside stands for glasses of water. His keeps his glass from making a ring. Mine helps keep the glass from tipping over as the cats stand on my sleeping face and help themselves from it throughout the night...

Meg Fairfax from Pigtown-Design blog finds the best treasures scouring her charity shop hotspots like this swanky fox and horn bar pin. Lucky for us she's decided she can part with him and now he's looking for new life outside of his previous Pendleton kilt existence...

Requisite attire for all C'villians are Blundstones and a Wiley Brothers classic 4-loop belt. Babe and I amicably co-parent a black and a brown one...

The bff beat me out of the starting gate getting these Meg Carter sea candy dangles. That's okay, it's not who gets them first Kimba, it's who wears them first that counts...

My favorite Kiehl's product du jour is The Imperial Body Balm. My precious skin deserves this reward for all the sun and salt soaking it puts up with in the summer...

The rest of the stocking can be full of coal as long as this lil Frank Gehry trinket for Tiffanys is tucked safely in there somewhere...

A horrified gasp from Hilbils as I publicise my obsession with the Bumpit. I'm thinking more along the lines of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's and a smidgie less of MTV's The Jersey Shore. One day til her highness returns home for Christmas and gives me never ending grief over this suggestion...

And, three times the charm...Just so happens, I know my childhood stocking will be stuffed with a new orange leather Chuck Pinnell key ring. This is good news for Emma who's been waiting in the wings to adopt my blue ostrich one...

And, how about a pink Swans Island scarf to go with a suspected Burberry pea coat sitting wrapped under the tree? Pretty around the neck and, in a NYC frigid pinch, equally useful around ones ankles under a dinner table. If Mario Batali had only known there was a crime of fashion being committed in his Greenwich Village establishment...

Back tomorrow to fill Maxminimus' request for stocking stuffers pour les hommes post. I may have to confer with Babe on this one ADG...XXOO

Stocking Stuffer Extravaganza

The next couple of posts contain a plethora of stocking stuffer goodies. Babe and I have Pierre Deux stockings, not only incredibly handsome but, also constructed to hold lots of loot...

Ren's Moroccan Bath Oil contains rose otto which is known as one of the world's most expensive and revered essential oils. They had me at "expensive" and "revered"...

Something as special as that bath oil deserves to be housed in a William Yeoward scent bottle...

Look what these did for Kelly Ripa...

First spied this cute book mark over at Grosgrain Garage blog annnd turns out she spied it over at Coterie blog. Great minds...

This baby's been on my wish list for years. No rush though, a classic has no shelf life...

Babe and I have an S. Matheson pocket square tucked in a pocket of nearly every coat we own. So special, one even stopped aide-de-camp Lizzie's tears in their tracks when it was passed her way during her bridal shower....

I am true blue to wearing Lauren in fall/winter and Chanel Cristalle in spring summer but, I do own Jo Malone's Pomegranate Noir just for the holiday season...

Hard to find Wilkin & Sons Tiptree Orange Medium Cut Marmalade with warm biscuits and tea to sustain you through all of your big present opening...

Where do I sign up to become a member of the Claus Porto soap cult?

Joanie of Belgian Shoe and Paperless Post fame is hoping Santa stuffs her stocking with Chuck Pinnell's sterling and peridot fox buckle. Hope Iggy reads my blog Joanie. I also hope that Santa visits moi...

These B.D. Jeffries enameled Pointer cuff links remind me of my English Pointer Ginger and would make a perfect addition to my collection. I mean, anyone's collection...

Be back on Monday with tons more stocking loot. For now I'm off to NYC to spend a couple special days with Babe before he flies off to Tokyo again...XXOO
