A Comedy Of Travel Errors

This was my last wave in with my brother Keith before I headed to the aeropuerto Friday afternoon to begin my three day trek home:

ZIH and a total of six delays and a hollow promise that I would "indeed" make my connectionHOU missed connection, surprise, surprise, a dead Blackberry and an hour long line to get on standby for the following afternoon, and twenty minutes on the hard, cold airport floor charging my cell so I could call Babe and get a ressie for the nightHouston Sheratonback to HOU Saturday morn for standby flight which I get ten minutes prior to takeoff, yeaaaBWI bouncy landing on a snow covered runway and iwishihadanickelfor every person that took one look at my gold Bonanno's and said, "I hope you have some other shoes dear"skidding Shuttle ride to my car parked at the Sheraton parking lotback inside to the Sheraton to toast my exposed piggy's by the fire while I call Babe to make me another ressie cuz, there ain't no way I'm getting stranded like Laura Ingalls on the side of the road in this blizzard and found frozen to death in my pale pink summer weight khaki's, gold sandals and peeling noseupstairs for room service and Miss Americaback into three day old summer clothes and a three hour, sometimes harrowing, car ride and I was finally home again, home again, jiggity jig...

Kindness of Babe for orchestrating my hotel ressies while juggling two phones for many hours with simultaneous calls to Continental and Orbitz. Sorry we only had a few hours together Babe before you→NYC...XXOO

  1. Poor Baby! What an awful journey! So glad that you are home at last...and glad that you got to enjoy some fun in the sun with your family.

Now..no unpacking and no laundry. Light a fire..make some chocolate..wrap yourself in cashmere ..and relax. Those are orders! ;-)

  2. Now who ever said travel was glamourous.
Sorry about your vexed voyage home!
Every vacation needs a happy ending.

  3. What a mess! At least you're home now and have a great story to share. It's so annoying when complete strangers comment on my choice of footwear like they did with your gold sandals.

  4. I hope your luggage is returned-at least you documented the contents in photos for your claim!

Vacations are great- but traveling isn't.

  6. Glad you made it back! I'm going to be in the same boat today, I'm flying back to D.C from FL and realized I don't even have a coat! I hope people appreciate a bright pink pashmina and matching pink toes in Jack Rogers.

  10. Too bad you weren't stranded in Big D...we could have had fun. The two puglets would have been all over you. We watched Miss America too and I hadn't seen it in awhile...it sure has changed!
