My father has been recommending the movie Bottle Shock to me ever since hearing a firsthand account of the true story while in Napa and I finally got around to renting it...
Natch, I felt obligated to run out and get myself a bottle of the film's star, Chateau Montelena to indeed verify the hoopla surrounding the chardonnay most famous for winning the white wine section of the historic "Judgement of Paris" wine competition. Hoopla verified...
ps...good for washing down Compost Cookies!
Kindness of my Dad for circuitously leading me to my new fav Chardonnay. We'll keep the price on the down low or else "Bottle Shock" will turn to "sticker shock" where Babe is concerned...XXOO
I've been thinking about wineries to visit during this weekend's trip to Napa. I just may add Chateau Montelana to the list. Excellent Chardonnay is my favorite wine, so I'm very interested.

fab!! sounds like you just picked out my parents' anniversary gift for me ;) given that i still love the andre, i appreciate a good legit wine recommendation hehe
ReplyDeleteIt just so happens that I have a hefty gift card at my favorite wine shop. After reading the tasting notes...'aromas of fruits...layered with toasted hazelnuts and a touch of smoke'... I'm off to see if they carry it. I'm always up for a good movie and a glass of chardonnay. The movie will be an added bonus- thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteOohh, I do love me a good Chard - thanks!
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend the Grgich 2007 Napa Chardonnay - about the same price point.
This looks like such a great movie. I'll have to get it for the DH and I to watch. It will be wonderful after visiting Napa 2 years ago.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect pairing to me!

Heading to San Fran/Napa tomorrow and you completely reminded me of this great movie and vineyard. Kindness and thanks to you!!! I hope we can take a quick road trip to taste.
ReplyDeleteBottle Shock is an awesome movie, for sure, as is the soundtrack. If you liked it, I think you would also enjoy A Good Year.
ReplyDeleteNetflix here I come...
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, we would like some wine now, please.
